Urinary Incontinence: Reproductive/Hormonal Risk Factors
Urinary IncontinenceThis study is a continuation or follow-up of two previous studies (RRISK and RRISK2) conducted at the Kaiser Division of Research. This study will invite previous study participants, as well as a randomly selected group of Northern California Kaiser Permanente Members, to participate in an interview, mailed survey and lab visit. The purpose of this study is to examine the risk factors for bladder and pelvic problems.
Pelvic Floor Contraction in Different Positions Among Women With and Without Stress Urinary Incontinence...
Urinary Stress IncontinenceExamination of pelvic floor contraction in different positions among women with and without stress urinary incontinence (SUI) will be conducted via diagnostic ultrasound. Urinary Incontinence and Anxiety in Pregnancy
Anxiety in Pregnancy (Disorder)Urinary Incontinence1 moreThis prospective case-control study aimed to evaluate the impact of presence, and severity of urinary incontinence (UI) on pregnancy related anxiety. The study included 160 pregnant women with uncomplicated pregnancies at the second trimester. The pregnant women with UI (n=80) were compared to the control group including continent pregnant women (n=80) in terms of Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Scores (PRAQ-R2) and Incontinence Consultation Questionnaire-Short Form (ICIQ-SF) in pregnant women. Pelvic Organ Prolapse Questionnaire (POP-Q) was considered for the diagnosis of pelvic organ prolapsus. The UI was also divided into subgroups as stress (SUI), urge (UUI), and mixed (MUI) types and they were also compared to the control group.

A Study on Accuracy Improvement of Repeated Measure Uroflowmetry- Electromyography
EnuresisUroflowmetry(UF) has been the standard first-line diagnostic tool for the evaluation of pediatric voiding dysfunction. But recently, UF combined with pelvic flow electromyography(EMG) is emphasized and recommended to analyze the separate contributions of the detrusor and bladder outlet and sole UF is discouraged except for the follow-up study after abnormal UF/EMG result(Bauer et al., 2015). However, electrode itself can disturb pelvic floor relaxation and there is no evidence about necessity of consecutive UF/EMG test. Therefore, the investigators are going to compare three different methods (Primary-Secondary: UF/EMG-UF/EMG, UF/EMG-sole UF, sole UF-UF/EMG)
