Effects of Inhibition of NO-Synthesis on Renal Hemodynamics and Sodium Excretion in Patients With...

Hypertension

The study tests the hypothesis that systemic and renal nitric oxide synthesis is changed in essential hypertension by investigating the effects of a non selective nitric oxide inhibitor on renal hemodynamics and sodium excretion in patients with essential hypertension. The results are compared with a group of healthy subjects.

Effect of Gut Microbiome Restoration on Primary Hypertension Via FMT

Hypertension

Mounting preclinical and clinical evidences have proved the causal role of gut microbiota on the pathogenesis of primary hypertension. Restoration of gut microbiota ameliorated high BP in rodents and/or human cases.A hypothesis is thus raised that gut microbiome restoration can be a potential approach to ameliorate hypertension. This pilot study will utilize fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) capsules, in comparison with placebo capsules, to investigate the effect, safety and underlying mechanisms of gut microbiome restoration on primary hypertension.

Valsartan and Amlodipine Compared to Losartan and Amlodipine in Hypertensive Patients

Essential Hypertension

Hypertensive patients with moderate hypertension have a risk to develop cardiovascular events of 15-20% over a period of 10 years. It is important to reach quickly the advised target, but often this result can be obtained with a combination therapy. Some evidences demonstrate sartans and calcium channels blockers can be very useful and safe, but it is also important to verify which association can give side effects or give some pharmacokinetic interactions that can negatively influence the clinical combination efficacy.

Antihypertensive Effect of Rostafuroxin Compared With Losartan in Hypertensive Patients Bearing...

Essential Hypertension

The principal aim of the study is to demonstrate that Rostafuroxin is able to induce a more pronounced reduction of arterial blood pressure respect to Losartan, in hypertensive patients carrying at least one of the pre-specified gene mutations. In previous studies has been demonstrated that these mutations are able to induce specific alterations inducing an increase of sodium (Na) reabsorption at renal tubular level and an increase of arterial blood pressure. Pilot studies have demonstrated that Rostafuroxin is able to reduce the impact of these alterations, and so directly reverse the increase in blood pressure.

Heat-sensitive Moxibustion Self-administration in Patients in the Community With Primary Hypertension:...

Primary Hypertension

Heat-sensitive moxibustion is considered to be effective for primary hypertension in hospital setting. This study aims to investigate whether heat-sensitive moxibustion self-administration is effective for lowering blood pressure and improving quality of life for patients with primary hypertension in community setting using a multicenter, prospective, non-randomized study design

Tai Chi for Patients With Essential Hypertension

Hypertension

Several studies investigating Tai Chi for hypertension have been carried out. However, investigators found the results were in high heterogeneity and poor methodological quality. Thus, investigators intend to provide high quality of the effectiveness and safety of Tai Chi for essential hypertension.
