Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Ganetespib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Giving paclitaxel and ganetespib may be an effective treatment for ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer.

We will also collect more information about the safety and side effects of this combination of drugs. Gemcitabine and oxaliplatin are chemotherapy drugs that kill cancer cells. Bevacizumab is a new anti-cancer drug that works to slow or stop cell growth in cancerous tumors by decreasing the blood supply to the tumors.

Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as paclitaxel and carboplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving chemotherapy before surgery may make the tumor smaller and reduce the amount of normal tissue that needs to be removed. Giving vaccine therapy and chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving vaccine therapy together with paclitaxel and carboplatin works in treating patients who are undergoing surgery for stage III or stage IV ovarian cancer, primary peritoneal cancer, or fallopian tube cancer.
