Muscle Fatigue Caused by Repetitive Muscle ExerciseWe hypothesize that adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP) supplementation will be able to enhance motor unit recruitment while simultaneously blunting the decline in power and reaction time that is typically seen during repetitive sprints. This will give researchers a better understanding of the mechanism by which ATP supplementation can augment power, especially under high fatiguing conditions.

Service Member Fatigue and Lack of Motivation Following Concussion
FatigueTraumatic Brain InjuryBackground: - Many service members have reported feeling tired, a loss of motivation, mood changes, and problems working with others after they have a concussion during deployment. These problems may lead to problems with their job and relationships. This study hopes to figure out what parts of the brain may be affected in people with these problems after a concussion. Objectives: - To learn more about the problems that may occur after service members have a concussion during deployment and return home. Eligibility: Service members or veterans between 18 and 40 years of age who have had a mild traumatic brain injury (concussion) in the past 6 months. Companions (at least 18 years of age) of the service members will also be included in this study. Companions will have interacted with the service member at least 1 hour a week since deployment. Design: Service members will have 1 week of tests at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center. Companions will have 2 days of tests at the Center. Each day, service members will have 4 or 8 hours of tests. Tests will include a medical history and physical exam, neuropsychological tests and imaging studies. The tests will ask about fatigue, stress, mood, pain, daily activities, and family support. The imaging studies will measure brain function at rest and during activity. Companions will have a medical history and physical exam. They will also complete several questionnaires about themselves as well as the service member/veteran. PolyphenolsSleep1 moreThis study aims to determine whether a citrus flavonoid or a citrus flavonoid formulation can improve objective sleep duration and/or quality, and/or improve perceived sleep quality and feelings of rest. Participants will complete a total of 9 test nights, which consist of sleeping with the sleep monitoring system after ingestion of the test product or a placebo, and filling out sleep-related questionnaires. The study has a crossover design, meaning that all participants receive all three interventions (citrus flavonoid, citrus flavonoid formulation, placebo) three times, in a randomized order.

Brain CancerThis goal of this research study is to learn more about fatigue, sleep quality, and other symptoms in patients with primary brain tumors who are being treated with radiation therapy. Objectives: PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: 1. The primary objective of this study is to provide preliminary data describing the severity and change over time in fatigue using the Brief Fatigue Inventory (BFI) during radiation therapy for patients with primary gliomas. SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: To evaluate longitudinal changes in the severity of symptoms and the mean symptom burden as measured by the M.D. Anderson Symptom Inventory-Brain Tumor Module (MDASI-BT) and mood using the Profile of Mood States (POMS) during radiation therapy. To assess alterations in circadian rhythms using actigraphy during radiation therapy and the association with sleep quality tools - Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS), and the severity of BFI and MDASI-BT scores over time. To explore the association between the levels of salivary hormones (melatonin and cortisol) and the occurrence of fatigue and symptom burden.
Effects of Tysabri (BG00002) Over 12 Months on MS Related Fatigue in Participants With RRMS
Relapsing-Remitting Multiple SclerosisFatigueThe primary objective of this trial is to observe the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) related fatigue during treatment with Tysabri as measured by changes in the fatigue scale for motor and cognitive functions (FMSC) over the course of 12 months. The secondary objectives are: To investigate changes in fatigue, capacity for work, Health Related Quality of Life (HRQol), sleepiness, cognitive impairment, physically activity induced exhaustion, speed of walking, status of MS disease progression and amount of walking at different times points after initiation of Tysabri treatment in participants diagnosed with Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS). Changes in fatigue are measured at 3, 6 and 9 months, whereas changes in capacity for work, HRQoL, sleepiness, cognitive impairment, physical activity induced exhaustion, speed of walking, status of MS disease progression and amount of walking are measured at 6 and 12 months. To investigate correlation between fatigue and cognitive impairment, depression and physically activity induced exhaustion and status of MS disease progression in participants at baseline, 6 and 12 month of treatment with Tysabri and to document any changes in fatigue related medication.
