Outcome After Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head in Young Patients

Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head

The course of AVN between Initial diagnosis and total hip replacement (THA) is analysed. The impact of early interventions versus conservative therapy in AVN before THA will be evaluated. The short and long term outcomes of AVN patients undergoing THA with respect to complications, reoperations and quality of life are investigated. Potential risk factors for adverse outcomes will be investigated.

Anesthesia Depth's Influence on Postoperative Delirium

Femur Head Necrosis

The investigators, according to the eligibility criteria, plane to choose 80 elderly anticipates who will undergo selective hip replacement surgery. This participants will be randomly divided into 2 groups:light anesthesia depth group(L Group) and deep anesthesia depth group (D Group). Before anesthesia induction, each participant will be given lumbar plexus and sciatic nerve block in order to control pain of interoperative and postoperative.During operation period, the L Group will be kept in light anesthesia depth(BIS:50-60),while the D group will be kept in deep anesthesia depth(BIS:35-45)--The BIS values in the range of 30-60 have been recommended in general anesthesia. After operation,a PCIA(patient controlled intravenous analgesia) analgesia pump will be given to each participant to control postoperative pain. The investigator will evaluate the mental state of participant with MMSE(mini-mental state examination) before surgery and review each participant with a CAM-CR for 3 days after surgery to assess the situation of postoperation delirium.intraoperative awareness, postoperative pain will also be investigated in postoperative days 1, 2, 3.

Prospective Clinical 5-year Follow-up of the LINK® SP-CL® Hip Prosthesis Stem

OsteoarthritisHip2 more

The objective of this PMCF is to collect clinical and radiographic outcome information on Total Hip Arthroplasty (THA) performed with LINK® SP-CL® Hip Prosthesis Stem under routine conditions. The results collected will be used to clinically confirm the performance and safety of the LINK® SP-CL® Hip Prosthesis Stem in terms of the manufacturer's obligation to perform a PMCF. Furthermore the results can be used for future regulatory processes if needed.

Molecular Genetic Study of Avascular Necrosis of the Femoral Head

Osteonecrosis

Avascular necrosis of the femoral head (ANFH) is a debilitating disease that commonly leads to destruction of the hip joint in patients at middle age of life and often requires surgical intervention. Previously, we have identified the collagen type II, alpha 1 (COL2A1) gene as the ANFH disease gene. In this grant proposal, we will establish cell ine and animal models to understand the pathophysiology of ANFH, and extend our ongoing study for identifying genes responsible for non-familiar ANFH by looking into other interacting molecules of the pathway.
