Effectiveness of Subtalar Arthroereisis With Endorthesis for Pediatric Flexible Flat Foot
FlatfootPediatric ALLPediatric flexible flatfoot is sometimes asymptomatic but it can also cause physical impairment, pain, and difficulty walking. We evaluate the radiographic effectiveness of intervention of subtalar arthroereisis with endorthesis for pediatric flexible flatfoot with final follow-up at skeletal maturity.
Arthroereisis Versus Lateral Column Lengthening in the Treatment of Planovalgus Feet
FlatfeetThere is no consensus on the surgical treatment of unremitting, painful flatfeet in children. Subtalar arthroereisis has gained notoriety although there is a paucity of literature on its biomechanical effects. The goal of the investigators was to compare a group treated with subtalar arthroereisis with another group undergoing lateral column calcaneal lengthening. The investigators hypothesis was that the results of arthroereisis would be equivalent to the more established method of calcaneal lengthening.
The Effect of Sensorimotor Insoles on Gait Parameters in Adults With Flexible Flatfoot
Flexible FlatfootThe flatfoot is one of the most common diagnosis in foot. The main goals of its orthotic intervention in adult population are the control of the rearfoot and midfoot movement, the affection of the forefoot position and the minimalization of painful deformities. However, only low-level evidence exists proving the positive effect of orthotic insoles in these patients. The concept of sensorimotor insoles describes besides the simple mechanical correction also the targeted modulation of activity of muscles participated on the correct foot function. The aim of the project is to assess the influence of customized sensorimotor insoles on the lower limbs' kinematics and the activity of lower limbs' muscles in people with diagnosed flexible flatfoot. The study is designed as a crossover interventional study with experimental and control group (allocation ratio 1:1). Participants' lower limbs' kinematics and muscles activity will be assessed on the baseline measurement, immediately after and 3 months after the intervention with sensorimotor insoles in the experimental group. Also, the subjective perceived effect of intervention will be assessed through the research. After a washout period, experimental and control group will swap their roles and another period of 3 months will follow. Same parameters will be assessed both at the beginning and in the end of each period.

Clonidine for Tourniquet-related Pain in Children
Polydactyly ToeThumb Hypoplasia30 moreThis study is designed as a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blinded, clinical trial with two parallel groups. This study investigates the association between a single dose of the drug, Clonidine, and the total amount of opioid administered under and 24 hours after surgery in children undergoing orthopedic limb surgery with the use of tourniquet. The investigators hypothesize that administration of clonidine to children undergoing limb surgery with the use of inflatable tourniquets would reduce post-procedural pain. This study is a pilot to obtain an effect size. Based on this the investigators will calculate a sample size for the main trial enabling us to reach a power of 0.8 with a significans level of 0.05.
Evaluation of the Titan 3-D™ Wedge System
Flat FootLateral Column Lengthening1 moreEvaluate clinical healing and radiographic maintenance of correction following an LCL procedure or medial cuneiform osteotomy (Cotton) at 6 months following the use of the TITAN 3-D™ Wedge. Subjects who receive one or more TITAN 3-D™ Wedges will obtain satisfactory levels of clinical healing and radiographic maintenance of correction at 6 months.
Return To Sport Activities in Patients Surgically Treated For Flat Foot in Paeditric Age
Flat FeetSurgery1 moreThe SURGERY of arthrosis of the subtalar joint, carried out between 9 and 12 years of age, the aim is to restore and maintain the physiological alignment between the talus and the calcaneus during bone maturation. There are few articles in the literature that talk about the return to sport of pediatric patients after surgery. The aim of the study is to review patients operated on remotely kick heel and describe how they return in their sports (resilience, type of activities carried out, recovery times). The aim of this study is to evaluate the clinical and functional results of patients of age Pediatric treated in the investigator's SC Orthopedics Pediatric Traumatology department for flat feet with "calcaneostop" surgery. The study aims to describe the method of resuming sports activities, analyzing the timing and difficulties declared by patients after surgery, with the help of specific questionnaires.
Investigation of Inter-rater and Test-retest Reliability of Y Balance Test in Individuals With Pes...
FlatfootPes Planus is characterized by the descent of the medial longitudinal arch, eversion of the hindfoot, and dorsiflexion and abduction of the midfoot. Disorders in the bones of the foot, dysfunction of the tibialis posterior muscle, shortness of the Achilles tendon or weakness in the muscles may pose a risk for pes planus. In a study in which 80 female participants aged 65 and over participated voluntarily, it was shown that 90% of the deformities seen in the foot were pes planus. In another study conducted with adults aged 18-21 years, pes planus was found with a rate of 13.6%. In a study in a group of 500 people aged 18-25 years, this rate was found to be 29%. Since exercise, physical activity and walking for a long time will cause foot and leg pain in people with pes planus, the level of physical activity of these people may be limited. There are studies examining the relationship between pes planus and different physical parameters. It has been determined as a result of some studies that the balance, which is one of these parameters, is negatively affected by the presence of pes planus. According to the literature, many studies have used the Y test in the evaluation of dynamic balance in individuals with pes planus. However the reliability of the Y Balance Test, which is a valid and reliable method for assessing balance in healthy individuals, has not been found in individuals with pes planus.
Translation, Validity, and Reliability of the Foot Posture Index (FPI-6) - Turkish Version
Foot DeformitiesPes Planus3 moreIndividuals with foot-ankle problems (plantar fasciitis, metarsalgia, pes planus, pes planovalgus/varus) will be included in the study. Permission was obtained from the research group that developed the scale to use the Original Foot Posture Index-6 (FPI-6). Cross-cultural adaptation of the FPI-6 will be made in line with the guidelines published by Ruberto and Beaton. First of all, the FPI-6 will be translated into Turkish by two translators whose native language is Turkish and who can speak English at an advanced level. Translations will be compared and discussed, and a Turkish version will be obtained with the equivalents that best represent each item in the texts. Secondly, this retranslated text will be independently translated back into English by two native English translators. In the third stage, two texts written in English will be synthesized by the authors, thus reaching a consensus on a single translation. Finally, the inconsistent parts of the text will be checked by a multidisciplinary team consisting of two native English-speaking translators, members of the English language and literature department, authors who developed the scale, and physiotherapists. Two independent physiotherapists will evaluate the participants' foot posture indexes by FPI-6 for inter-rater reliability. In addition, patients' quality of life, foot functions, hindfoot profiles will be evaluated. For the calculation of validity between measurements, rater-1 will apply the FPI-6 again to the same participants after 15 days for intra-rater reliability. Patients' functional independence, activities of daily living, and quality of life will also be evaluated for criterion validity. American Orthopedic Foot and Ankle Society-AOFAS, SF-36 and Foot Function Index questionnaires will be applied for the validity of FPI-6.
Evaluation and Classification of Foot Medial Longitudinal Arch Height in Adults
Pes PlanusThe aim of the study is, to evaluate and classificate the medial longitudinal arch height in adult individuals. Aged between 18-40 years,350 adults who are voluntarily participate is going to be evaluate with Feiss Line(FL), Navicular Drop(ND) and Longitudinal Arch Angle(LAA) in subtalar neutral and resting position. Maximum, minimum values are going to be calculated. The 95% and 68% prediction intervals will be used as cut off limits.
