Bortezomib and Azacitidine in Treating Patients With Relapsed or Refractory T-Cell Lymphoma

Adult Nasal Type Extranodal NK/T-cell LymphomaAnaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma10 more

RATIONALE: Bortezomib and azacitidine may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. PURPOSE: This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of bortezomib when given together with azacitidine in treating patients with relapsed or refractory T-cell lymphoma.

Beta Glucan Assay in Patients Receiving Voriconazole Prophylaxis

LeukemiaFungal Infection

Objectives: To investigate the relationship between the administration of intravenous (IV) and oral voriconazole (vori) and the occurrence of false positive (1,3) beta-d- glucan (BG) relative to the standard assessment criteria used to diagnose invasive fungal infection in patients with hematologic malignancies.

Adult Grade III Lymphomatoid GranulomatosisAdult Nasal Type Extranodal NK/T-cell Lymphoma62 more

This phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of vorinostat in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors or lymphoma and liver dysfunction. (closed for accrual as of 04/05/2010) Vorinostat may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Vorinostat may have different effects in patients who have changes in their liver function.

Antifungal Prophylaxis With Micafungin After Cord Blood Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation (MycaCOORD)...

Invasive Fungal Infection

Infections due to post transplant immune deficiency are a major problem following allogeneic stem cell transplantation (Allo-SCT), particularly in patients receiving cord blood transplant (CB). Duration of neutropenia is one of the most important risk factor for invasive fungal infection (IFI). In this setting, Micafungin has been approved for antifungal prophylaxis for patients undergoing Allo-SCT. In a randomized, double-blind, comparative, phase III trial, the overall efficacy of micafungin was superior to that of fluconazole as antifungal prophylaxis during the neutropenic phase after Allo-SCT. However, very few patients in this study received a CB transplant. This is phase IIb, prospective, open-label, non-comparative study to assess the safety of micafungin when use in prevention of IFI in neutropenic patients receiving allo-SCT using CB as source of stem cells.

Romidepsin, Ifosfamide, Carboplatin, and Etoposide in Treating Participants With Relapsed or Refractory...

Mycosis FungoidesRecurrent Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma11 more

This phase I trial studies the best dose and side effects of romidepsin when given in combination with ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide in treating participants with peripheral T-cell lymphoma that has come back or does not respond to treatment. Romidepsin may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving romidepsin, ifosfamide, carboplatin, and etoposide may work better in treating participants with peripheral T-cell lymphoma.

A Pharmacokinetic Analysis of Posaconazole in Lung Transplant Recipients (MK-5592-105)

Fungal Infection

This single site study will examine plasma and alveolar compartment (AC) levels of posaconazole in cystic fibrosis (CF) and non-cystic fibrosis (non-CF) lung transplant recipients receiving routine post-operative anti-fungal prophylaxis. Invasive fungal infection rates will be assessed following transplantation.
