Ecteinascidin 743 in Treating Patients With Advanced Soft Tissue Sarcoma
Brain and Central Nervous System TumorsEndometrial Cancer4 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of ecteinascidin 743 in treating patients who have advanced soft tissue sarcoma.
Doxorubicin Hydrochloride and Alvocidib in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Recurrent Sarcoma...
Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorRecurrent Adult Soft Tissue Sarcoma1 moreThis phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of alvocidib when given with doxorubicin hydrochloride in treating patients with metastatic or recurrent sarcoma that cannot be removed by surgery. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin hydrochloride and alvocidib, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Alvocidib may also help doxorubicin hydrochloride work better by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drug. Giving more than one drug may kill more tumor cells
Imatinib Mesylate in Treating Patients With Advanced Cancer and Liver Dysfunction
Accelerated Phase Chronic Myelogenous LeukemiaAcute Undifferentiated Leukemia84 moreDrugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of imatinib mesylate in treating patients who have advanced cancer and liver dysfunction
Neoadjuvant and Adjuvant Imatinib Mesylate in Treating Patients With Primary or Recurrent Malignant...
Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorPhase II trial to study the effectiveness of neoadjuvant and adjuvant imatinib mesylate in treating patients who are undergoing surgery for primary or recurrent malignant gastrointestinal stromal tumor. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Giving imatinib mesylate before and after surgery may shrink the tumor so it can be removed and may kill any tumor cells remaining after surgery.
7-Hydroxystaurosporine and Irinotecan Hydrochloride in Treating Patients With Metastatic or Unresectable...
Advanced Adult Primary Liver CancerCarcinoma of the Appendix87 moreThis phase I trial is studying the side effects and best dose of giving 7-hydroxystaurosporine together with irinotecan hydrochloride in treating patients with metastatic or unresectable solid tumors, including triple-negative breast cancer (currently enrolling only patients with triple-negative breast cancer since 6/8/2007). Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Giving 7-hydroxystaurosporine together with irinotecan hydrochloride may help kill more cancer cells by making tumor cells more sensitive to the drug.
Study of AMN107 With Imatinib in Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST)
Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorsThis study is an open-label, multicenter, Phase I dose-escalation study of the combination of AMN107 and imatinib (STI571) in patients with imatinib-resistant GIST. This study is designed to determine the Phase II dose of AMN107 and imatinib when administered together in patients with imatinib-resistant GIST, and to characterize the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of this combination.
Post-Marketing Clinical Study of Postoperative Adjuvant Therapy With Imatinib Mesylate in Patients...
Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorsThis is a multicenter, post-marketing, clinical study evaluating the safety and efficacy of postoperative adjuvant therapy with Imatinib Mesylate in high-risk patients after curative resection of newly diagnosed GIST.Patients will be evaluated for relapse -free survival as measured by the confirmation of tumor recurrence and survival for 3 years after surgery for their primary tumors.
EF5 and Motexafin Lutetium in Detecting Tumor Cells in Patients With Abdominal or Non-Small Cell...
Advanced Adult Primary Liver CancerCarcinoma of the Appendix69 moreThis clinical trial is studying the amount of EF5 and motexafin lutetium present in tumor cells and/or normal tissues of patients with abdominal (such as ovarian, colon, or stomach cancer) or non-small cell lung cancer. EF5 may be effective in measuring oxygen in tumor tissue. Photosensitizing drugs such as motexafin lutetium are absorbed by tumor cells and, when exposed to light, become active and kill the tumor cells. Knowing the level of oxygen in tumor tissue and the level of motexafin lutetium absorbed by tumors and normal tissue may help predict the effectiveness of anticancer therapy
Paclitaxel in Patients With Metastatic or Advanced Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST) After...
Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorsWith discovery of KIT mutations and the advent of KIT tyrosine kinase inhibitor imatinib (GlivecTM, Novartis), there has been substantial improvement in overall survival in patients with advanced and/or metastatic gastrointestinal tumors (GIST). Recently, sunitinib (SuteneTM, Pfizer) showed activity as second-line therapy in GIST patients after failure with imatinib. However, virtually all patients will eventually progress or become intolerable after the first-line imatinib and the second-line sunitinib.

Gastrointestinal Stromal TumorThis phase II trial is studying how well imatinib mesylate works in treating patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumor that was completely removed during surgery. Imatinib mesylate may stop the growth of cancer cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for cancer cell growth
