REmotely-delivered Supportive Programs for Improving Surgical Pain and disTrEss
Postoperative PainAcute4 moreThe purpose of this research study is to learn how two different supportive programs may help women feel better after surgery. This study will measure if one type of supportive program is more useful than the other for improving wellbeing after surgery.
Patient-Reported Outcomes Among Women Wtih Gynecological Cancer (The CONNECT Study)
Gynecologic CancerGynecologic Neoplasm2 moreSystematic nurse-led consultations based on electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO) will be tested among women with ovarian - and endometrial cancer receiving first-line chemotherapy.
e-Health Intervention (Day-by-Day) for the Management of Fear of Progression in Women With Stage...
Malignant Female Reproductive System NeoplasmStage III Cervical Cancer AJCC v89 moreThis clinical trial studies how well an electronic (e)-health intervention (day-by-day) woks in managing fears or worries about cancer growing, spreading, or getting worse (progression) in patients with stage III or IV gynecologic cancer. Fear and worries about cancer progression or recurrence (coming back) are common concerns. This may contribute to concerns related to illness, worries, and uncertainty about the future. Day by Day is adapted from a program called "Conquer Fear" which was shown to benefit patients with early-stage cancer. Day-by-day intervention may help refocus patient thoughts and help patients learn skills to manage anxiety and fears.
The Lifestyle and Empowerment Techniques in Survivorship of Gynecologic Oncology Study
Gynecologic CancerGynecologic Neoplasm4 moreThis study compares traditional follow-up of gynaecological cancer patients to an alternative follow-up model. In the alternative follow-up model the patients will meet a nurse at every second consultation. The nurse will focus on psychosocial health and educate the patients in the use of a study specific smartphone-application.
Sexual Health Counseling Intervention During Radiation Therapy in Improving Quality of Life for...
Malignant Female Reproductive System NeoplasmStage I Cervical Cancer AJCC v843 moreThis phase I trial studies a sexual health counseling intervention during radiation therapy in improving quality of life for women with gynecologic cancer. Women with gynecologic cancer often suffer long-term complications from treatment that can affect their physical and psychological well-being. An early sexual health counseling intervention prior to and after radiation may improve symptoms management and reduce the physical and psychological effects of treatment.
Testing AZD1775 inC Combination With Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy in Cervical, Upper Vaginal and...
Cervical CarcinomaEndometrioid Adenocarcinoma22 moreThis phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of adavosertib when given together with external beam radiation therapy and cisplatin in treating patients with cervical, vaginal, or uterine cancer. Adavosertib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. External beam radiation therapy uses high energy x-rays to kill tumor cells and shrink tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving adavosertib, external beam radiation therapy, and cisplatin may work better in treating patients with cervical, vaginal, or uterine cancer.
Brachytherapy With Durvalumab or Tremelimumab for the Treatment of Patients With Platinum-Resistant,...
Metastatic Malignant Female Reproductive System NeoplasmPlatinum-Resistant Malignant Female Reproductive System Neoplasm2 moreThis phase II trial studies the side effects and how well brachytherapy with durvalumab or tremelimumab work for the treatment of gynecological malignancies that is resistant to platinum therapy (platinum-resistant), does not respond to treatment (refractory), has come back (recurrent), or has spread to other places in body (metastatic). Brachytherapy, also known as internal radiation therapy, uses radioactive material placed directly into or near a tumor to kill tumor cells. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as durvalumab and tremelimumab, may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. This trial is being done to see whether brachytherapy with durvalumab or tremelimumab works better in treating patients with gynecological malignancies.
Fulvestrant Plus Abemaciclib in Women With Advanced Low Grade Serous Carcinoma
Malignant Neoplasms of Female Genital OrgansThe goal of this clinical research study is to learn if fulvestrant and abemaciclib can help to control low-grade serous ovarian cancer. The safety of this drug combination will also be studied. This is an investigational study. Fulvestrant and abemaciclib are both FDA approved and commercially available for the treatment of several types of cancer. Their use in patients with low-grade serous ovarian cancer is investigational. The study doctor can explain how the study drugs are designed to work. Up to 15 participants will be enrolled in this study. All will take part at MD Anderson.
Bevacizumab and Temsirolimus Alone or in Combination With Valproic Acid or Cetuximab in Treating...
Advanced Malignant NeoplasmCastleman Disease37 moreThis phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of bevacizumab and temsirolimus alone or in combination with valproic acid or cetuximab in treating patients with a malignancy that has spread to other places in the body or other disease that is not cancerous. Immunotherapy with bevacizumab and cetuximab, may induce changes in body's immune system and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Temsirolimus may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as valproic acid, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. It is not yet known whether bevacizumab and temsirolimus work better when given alone or with valproic acid or cetuximab in treating patients with a malignancy or other disease that is not cancerous.
A Phase II Trial of Ipilimumab and Nivolumab for the Treatment of Rare Cancers
Gastrointestinal CancerNeuroendocrine Tumours1 moreThe three tumour streams that will be studied in this protocol are: (i) upper GI malignancies (comprising intra-hepatic/extra-hepatic cholangiocarcinomas, gall bladder cancers and duodenal cancers).); (ii) neuroendocrine tumours (inc. Pancreatic, bronchial and intestinal carcinoid tumours) and (iii) rare gynaecological tumours (including but will not be limited to: vaginal or vulval carcinomas, clear cell carcinoma of the ovary, low grade serous ovarian cancer, mixed mullarian tumours (carcinosarcoma), sarcomas of the female genital tract and granulosa cell tumours). The role of immunotherapy is being defined in more common cancer types, however because of their rarity, the efficacy of immunotherapy for these cancers is poorly defined. This protocol provides an important opportunity to establish whether the combination of nivolumab & ipilimumab has efficacy in these cancers.
