Advanced Imaging for Glaucoma Study
GlaucomaThe specific aims of the clinical studies are to: Predict the development of glaucomatous visual field (VF) abnormality in glaucoma suspects and pre-perimetric glaucoma patients based on anatomic abnormalities detected by advanced imaging. Predict the development of glaucomatous VF abnormality in glaucoma suspects and pre-perimetric glaucoma patients based on anatomic changes detected between successive advanced imaging tests. Determine the sensitivity and specificity of glaucoma diagnosis based on advanced imaging tests.
The Study of Ocular Hemodynamics With Glaucoma Progression
GlaucomaTo determine the relationships between ocular hemodynamics and glaucomatous optic neuropathy progression.
Investigation of Genetic Disease Marker Associated With Korean Glaucoma Patients
Single-nucleotide Polymorphism (SNP) for GlaucomaA single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) analysis of DNA obtained from peripheral blood of the glaucoma patients and the normal control will be performed to find genetic marker for primary open angle glaucoma.
Central Corneal Thickness in Glaucoma
Exfoliation SyndromeThe purpose of this study is to compare the central corneal thickness measurement in patients with exfoliation syndrome, exfoliative glaucoma, primary open-angle glaucoma, ocular hypertension and normal controls and to evaluate the value of corneal thickness in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma.
Glaucoma Adherence Study
Ocular HypertensionPrimary Open Angle GlaucomaThe purpose of this study is evaluate adherence to DuoTrav® when reinforced by the use of the Travalert™ Dosing Aid.
Eye Drop Use in Glaucoma Patients Through Patient Surveys and Video Observations
GlaucomaDry Eye Syndrome1 moreThis study will be used to evaluate how patients put eye drops in their eyes and any problems that may arise from this activity. The information gathered will help identify common problems patients are having with putting in their eye medications. Then doctors can be better informed about the issues and provide better advice to their patients to overcome these problems.
Neurovascular Coupling in Eyes of Glaucoma Patients
GlaucomaOcular HypertensionWe hypothesize that glaucoma patients demonstrate an impaired retinal vascular response to the flicker stimulus, and that this disturbance is predictive of the progression of glaucomatous damage. The response of a major temporal superior and inferior retinal artery and vein to a 60 seconds 12.5 Hz flicker light stimulation in 50 glaucoma patients, 50 ocular hypertensives and 50 controls (using the Retinal Vessel Analyzer) and to investigate how intraocular pressure relates to neurovascular coupling. In addition, 50 glaucoma patients and 50 ocular hypertension patients will be followed for 3 years for functional (visual field, automated perimetry with Octopus device) and morphological (retinal nerve fiber layer thickness, Optical Coherence Tomography Stratus (OCT) device) glaucomatous damage progression, in order to test the predictive power of the retinal vascular flicker response for glaucoma progression.
Does the Optic Disc Grading Done Visually by Your Doctor Agree With Optic Nerve Testing Which is...
Open Angle GlaucomaThe purpose of this study is to determine how well the DDLS (Disc Damage Likelihood Scale) (which is a method used by the eye doctor to evaluate how healthy the optic nerve is) measures up to the standard glaucoma tests: OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography), the HRT (Heidelberg Retinal Tomography) and the HVF (Humphrey Visual Field).
Relationship Between Central Corneal Thickness and Intraocular Pressure Measures Instruments.
GlaucomaGlaucoma3 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the relationship between intraocular pressure and central corneal thickness using various instruments in ocular hypertension, normal-tension glaucoma, primary open angle glaucoma, keratoconus and normal eyes.
