Azopt (Brinzolamide 1.0%) Plus Travatan (Travoprost 0.004%) in Treating Patients With Chronic Angle-Closure...
Intraocular PressureTo evaluate the IOP (Intraocular Pressure) lowering efficacy and safety of Brinzolamide 1.0% (Azopt), dosed twice daily as adjunctive therapy in patients treated with Travoprost 0.004% (Travatan) once daily. The study is double masked. The patients will receive either treatment for 12 weeks.
Comparison of Latanoprost Vs. Timolol
GlaucomaThe primary purpose of this study is to show, through a controlled masked clinical study of subjects with ocular hypertension (OHT), that latanoprost increases the low uveoscleral drainage of aqueous humor back to normal levels, and timolol maleate reduces the formation of aqueous humor below normal. Both of these mechanisms will effectively reduce intraocular pressure (IOP). The secondary purpose is to assess the effects of both latanoprost and timolol maleate on the fluorophotometric outflow facility, and episcleral venous pressure and on all parameters over time.
Phacotrabeculotomy Versus CCI+Phaco in Patients With Borderline Control of Intraocular Pressure...
Primary Open Angle GlaucomaPseudoexfoliative GlaucomaThe purpose of the study is to determine whether combined cataract and glaucoma surgery (phacotrabeculotomy)is more effective in lowering intraocular pressure than cataract surgery alone in patients with borderline control of intraocular pressure.
INFLUENCE OF TOPICAL INDOMETHACIN ON HYPOTHENSIVE EFFECT OF BRIMONIDINE
GlaucomaPurpose: To evaluate the influence of the nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory indomethacin on the brimonidine intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering effect. Methods: A randomized double-masked study was carried out. Patients medicated with timolol maleate 0,5% and needed complementary medication were random allocated into two groups: (a) brimonidine tartarate 0,15% and indomethacin 1% or (b) brimonidine tartarate and placebo (balanced saline solution). If patient's both eyes were eligible, they were allocated to the same group. IOP was measured at two weeks, one month and two months after study beginning. The mean IOP of the eyes was used for analyzes, in the case of two eligible eyes. For statistical analyzes repeated measures analysis was used.

iStent Inject in OAG Subjects on 2 Pre-op Topical Ocular Hypotensive Medications
Primary Open Angle Glaucoma (POAG)The purpose of this study is to evaluate the intraocular pressure (IOP) lowering effect of iStent inject in eyes of subjects with primary open-angle glaucoma previously on two anti-glaucoma medications.
Prospective Constitution of Database Gathering Data of Patients Suffering From Glaucoma Followed...
GlaucomaFew publications provide information on the natural history of glaucoma, outside of clinical trials do not always reflect what is observed in common situation for various reasons (specific selection criteria and sometimes restrictive, stronger motivations patients and physicians to comply with follow-up visits and prescribed treatments, etc.). Therefore, much information on the natural history of glaucoma are unknown to date (degradation rate of visual field and visual function over time, risk of blindness in the years following diagnosis, effects of various treatments to reduce intraocular pressure and preserving visual field deterioration, etc.). Obtaining such important data to improve the management of glaucoma patients (choice of treatment methods, identification of predictors of rapid change that can make choosing more aggressive treatment and more regular monitoring, etc.) requires the establishment of cohort of patients followed and treated with the methods usually used in current practice, and besides therapeutic trial.
Efficacy of the Brand-name Latanoprost and One of Its Generic Version in Primary Open Angle Glaucoma...
Primary Open Angle GlaucomaOcular HypertensionThe purpose of this study is to evaluate and compare efficacy and tolerability of the brand-name latanoprost and one of its generic version in subjects with primary open angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This randomized, double-blinded, cross-over design study has a 4 months follow-up. There are two periods of 8 weeks. During the first period, subjects put brand-name latanoprost in one eye and the generic version in the other one. In the second period, drops are switched from one eye to the other. There are intraocular pressure measurements (diurnal curves) on day 0 (before treatment), at 8 weeks (at the end of first period) and at 16 weeks (at the end of second period). Variations of intraocular pressure in each eye will be evaluated.
Baerveldt Plate Area Comparison (BPAC)
GlaucomaThis research is being done to compare the safety and effectiveness of two sizes of the Baerveldt glaucoma implant. A Baerveldt glaucoma implant is one of the most common types of glaucoma operations performed. This procedure works by providing a route by which fluid can drain out of the eye to decrease the intraocular pressure. The Baerveldt implant does this by placing a tube into the eye which shunts aqueous fluid to a silicone plate which is attached to the sclera (white portion of the eye). It is this plate that comes in two different sizes (250 square millimeters and 350 square millimeters). Earlier studies have shown that larger plate sizes produce lower eye pressures but that they may also result in more complications. While both Baerveldt devices are currently in use and have been shown to be safe and effective, it is unclear if one is superior to the other. The purpose of this study is to see if one size of device works better with fewer complications.
Safety and Efficacy of Deep Wave Trabeculoplasty (DWT) in Primary Open Angle Glaucoma and Ocular...
Primary Open-angle Glaucoma (POAG)Ocular Hypertension (OHT)The primary purpose of this study is to investigate the safety and efficacy of bilateral DWT in subjects with POAG or OHT compared to active and sham controls. The secondary purpose of the study is to investigate the durability, repeatability, and does response of the same.
