Does Notch Regulate Glioma Proliferation ?

Glioma

The investigators showed in 2015 (Guichet et al) that the Notch1 pathway has an anti-proliferative role on glial brain tumors. In this project, the investigators investigated which genes downstream of Notch1 pathway activation produce the anti-proliferative effect. The investigators hypothesized that the SNAI2 and TAL1 genes act downstream of Notch1

Natural History of Brain Function, Quality of Life, and Seizure Control in Patients With Brain Tumor...

Adult Diffuse AstrocytomaAdult Mixed Glioma5 more

This trial studies the natural history of brain function, quality of life, and seizure control in patients with brain tumor who have undergone surgery. Learning about brain function, quality of life, and seizure control in patients with brain tumor who have undergone surgery may help doctors learn more about the disease and find better methods of treatment and on-going care.

68Ga-BNOTA-PRGD2 PET/CT in Diagnosis and Evaluation of Glioma

Glioma

This is an open-label brain PET/CT (positron emission tomography/computed tomography) study to investigate the diagnostic performance and evaluation efficacy of 68Ga-BNOTA-PRGD2 in glioma patients. A single dose of nearly 111 MBq 68Ga-BNOTA-PRGD2 (≤40 µg BNOTA-PRGD2) will be intravenously injected into patients in suspicion of glioma. Visual and semiquantitative method will be used to assess the PET/CT images. Brain MRI with/without enhancement and 18F-FDG PET/CT will be performed for comparison. The postoperative pathology and integrin αvβ3 and CD34 immunohistochemical stains will also be used for correlation.

Temozolomide All-Case-Registered Surveillance (Designated Drug Use Investigation)(Study P05062)...

GliomaAstrocytoma

The purpose of this study is to confirm the safety and efficacy of temozolomide in patients with newly diagnosed malignant glioma (concomitant with radiotherapy and then as monotherapy) and relapsed malignant glioma (as monotherapy) when used in the daily medical practices. Post-marketing surveys are not considered applicable clinical trials and thus the results of this survey will not be posted at its conclusion. The results will be submitted to public health officials as required by applicable national and international laws.

Glioma and Exercising

High Grade Glioma

To investigate the influence of two physical activity and exercising (PAE) interventions, namely resistance training and endurance training in relation to quality of life, depression, fatigue, sleep, anxiety, stress and coping, body image, and social interactions (psychological dimensions); cardiorespiratory fitness, morning cortisol secretion, inflammatory markers, and objective sleep (physiological dimensions), along with cancer-related dimensions

Early Palliative Care Intervention in Malignant Glioma

Malignant Glioma

The purpose of this research study is to determine the feasibility and acceptability of incorporating palliative care into the clinical care plans of patients newly diagnosed with malignant brain tumors. Palliative Care is a field of medicine that focuses on providing relief from symptoms and stress related to serious illnesses. This study will assess the feasibility of conducting a future study, and will gather data upon which to appropriately tailor the intervention and the future study design. The statistical analysis of this study will describe 8 components that encompass each of the 4 areas of focus or "domains": acceptability, demand, implementation, and integration.
