Participants who are allocated to the intervention group will be offered to start on the CBT-course immediately, while the control group that will be offered the same course 12 months later. Main outcome measures are assessments of mental distress and vocational coping. We will also assess the distress associated with tinnitus, which is a potential moderator variable.

The objectives of this study are to determine whether central auditory processing (CAP) disorders are associated with exposure to high-explosive blasts. This study will also examine the incidence, magnitude and timing of spontaneous recovery of CAP function from blast exposure. The information provided by this study will help guide clinicians in both the military and VA health care systems regarding the likelihood of central auditory processing disorders in soldiers returning from deployment and suggest some clinical rehabilitative strategies for the treatment of these patients with CAP deficits.
Programming Cochlear Implant With Artificial Intelligence
Deafness; PerceptionThis thesis project proposes to investigate the "state of the art" of the programming of the cochlear implant. In the center of audiophonologie Brussels, the classic 'manual programming' has been in use over 20 years and also the new way 'Artificial Intelligence programming'. The investigators want to compare, objectify, and control this new mode of programming. The study is planned over 4 years, in order to test, randomized, 15 subjects with manual programming and 15 other subjects with Artificial Intelligence programming. To test the performance of Cochlear Implant patients, audiological, language auditory perception and questionnaire tests will be presented. This research aims to determine the contribution and results of Artificial Intelligence programming.

The tubes differ in size, shape and material. No-one knows if there are differences between the different kinds of tubes regarding complications. The investigators' hypothesis is that there is differences between the different kinds of tubes regarding complications. To test the investigators' hypothesis, the investigators are about to conduct a randomized controlled study of four kinds of tubes having two different material and two different shapes.
