CIBMTR Research Database

Autologous Stem Cell TransplantationAllogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation5 more

The primary purpose of the Research Database is to have a comprehensive source of observational data that can be used to study HSC transplantation and cellular therapies. A secondary purpose of the Research Database is to have a comprehensive source of data to study marrow toxic injuries. Objectives: To learn more about what makes stem cell transplants and cellular therapies work well such as: Determine how well recipients recover from their transplants or cellular therapy; Determine how recovery after a transplant or cellular therapy can be improved; Determine how a donor's or recipient's genetics impact recipient recovery after a transplant or cellular therapy; Determine how access to transplant or cellular therapy for different groups of patients can be improved; Determine how well donors recover from the collection procedures.

Peer Support Intervention for Patients Undergoing Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

Hematopoietic NeoplasmsHematopoietic Malignancy

The main purpose of this study is to determine if a novel peer support intervention (STEPP) is feasible among patients undergoing hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT). The name of the intervention used in this research study is STEPP, a peer support intervention comprised of five learning modules on psychoeducation and supportive psychotherapy strategies, tailored to the unique needs of patients undergoing HSCT.

Hypnosis: a Path to Appeasement

Hematologic Cancer

Hypnosis is a technique allowing the patient to focus his mental attention on a thought or a sensation, with the aim of reducing or modulating the intensity of a negative feeling or an ordeal encountered during the course of treatment. This tool can be used when patients are faced with chronic disorders (pain, anxiety, ...) or iatrogenic effects (nausea, asthenia, ...). The patient is referred to hypnosis care by the doctor, psychologist or paramedics who follow him, when they detect a need. Several scientific studies have shown the effectiveness of hypnosis in improving the quality of life of patients with breast cancer and in reducing pain during invasive procedures. On the other hand, in hematology, no research has measured the evolution of anxiety, over time, in patients receiving hypnotherapy.

A Multicomponent Technology Supported Care Delivery for Older Patients With Hematologic Malignancies...

Cancer

This is a randomized controlled trial to assess the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of a multicomponent technology-supported care delivery intervention trial in 110 older patients with hematologic malignancies [acute myeloid leukemia (AML), myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS), multiple myeloma (MM), and diffuse large b-cell lymphoma (DLBCL)] receiving outpatient chemotherapy on treatment-related toxicities, patient-reported outcomes, healthcare utilization, and inflammatory and epigenetic markers.

Lenalidomide Discontinuation Study

Multiple MyelomaCancer1 more

An interventional, non-randomised study to assess the risk of progression after discontinuation of maintenance therapy in sustained MRD negative complete remission by flow cytometry MM patients without high-risk features who have completed at least two years of maintenance therapy with lenalidomide or who have discontinued lenalidomide maintenance due to side effects. The primary endpoint is to assess the rates of sustained MRD negativity by NGF in the bone marrow at 12 months after discontinuation of maintenance therapy.
