Outcomes of an Anticoagulation Clinic in an University Hospital
CardiopathyChagas Disease2 moreA clinical trial designed to compare the oral anticoagulation control obtained by an anticoagulation clinic and the usual medical care in Chagas and Non-Chagas disease patients.
Observational Study on the Efficacy and Safety of NovoSeven® During "Real-life" Usage in Germany...
Congenital Bleeding DisorderCongenital FVII Deficiency3 moreThis NON INTERVENTIONAL OBSERVATIONAL STUDY is conducted in Europe. The primary aim is to observe the haemostatic efficacy of NovoSeven® treatment during routine practice in German clinics. The observational study observes patients with congenital haemophilia with inhibitors to coagulation factors VIII or IX, acquired haemophilia, congenital FVII deficiency, or Glanzmann's thrombasthenia who have received at least one dose of NovoSeven® for treatment of a bleeding episode or for the prevention of a bleeding when undergoing surgery or an invasive procedure.
Pituitary Functions After Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and/or Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH)
Traumatic Brain InjurySubarachnoid Hemorrhage1 moreThis study performs assessments of pituitary functions by basal hormone levels in the acute phase after TBI and/or SAH followed by detailed endocrine tests (insulin-induced hypoglycemia or growth hormone releasing hormone-arginine-corticotropin releasing hormone-leuteinizing hormone releasing hormone [GHRH-arginine-CRH-LHRH] test) after 4 and 12 months.
Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis (AIS) Gold Standard for Blood Loss
Adolescent Idiopathic ScoliosisThe purpose of this study is to establish a benchmark for measuring blood loss by directly measuring the change in red cell volume before and after surgery and to compare established blood loss estimators to this benchmark in order to determine the most accurate and precise method for estimating blood loss in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis surgery patients
Retinal Vessel Analysis (rGA) at the Patient Bed in the Context of Non-traumatic Subarachnoid Haemorrhage...
Non-traumatic Subarachnoid HaemorrhageA subarachnoid hemorrhage occurs in about 10 out of 100,000 people each year. This bleeding leads to irritation and constriction of blood vessels in the brain (vasospasm) in two out of three people affected within four to 21 days and thus to reduced blood flow. This can lead to a stroke and serious damage. In order to be able to diagnose and treat a constriction of the blood vessels at an early stage, there are various examination methods which, however, have various disadvantages such as radiation exposure of the patient, low sensitivity or high effort. Therefore, the prediction and timely therapy of vascular constrictions is currently only successful in a few cases before the reduced blood flow has already led to irreversible damage. The aim of this study is to investigate whether the so-called retinal vascular analysis can be used in addition to previous standard examinations for the early detection of diseases of the cerebral blood circulation. This method has few side effects and has been successfully used for 50 years to examine the blood circulation in the eye.
The Effect of Labor Induction With Oxytocin on Early Postpartum Hemorrhage, Perineal Integrity and...
OxytocinAim: This study has been planned as an observational study. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of labor induction with oxytocin on early postpartum hemorrhage, perineal integrity and breastfeeding. Materials and Methods: The sample consists of 88 healthy mother and infant pairs. The mothers in the case group will receive oxytocin induction before and after delivery. On the other hand, the mothers in the control group will not receive any oxytocin induction before delivery, and will receive oxytocin induction in the end of delivery. Data were collected by using the Personal Information Form, the LATCH Breastfeeding Diagnostic Scale, the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale, the follow-up bag for postpartum hemorrhage, and episiotomy healing assessment known as the REEDA Scale.

Procedures While Wearing CBRNe Protective Equipment
Cardiac ArrestPneumothorax1 moreOut-of-hospital care during Chemical-Biological-Radiological-Nuclear-explosive (CBRNe) events have recently evolved, but the available knowledge is still extremely partial. In particular, the debate is still ongoing regarding which life-saving maneuvers should be implemented in the pre-decontamination phase while wearing CBRNe personal protective equipment (PPE). The investigators hypothesized that PPE may lengthen the execution times and worsen the success rate of invasive and non-invasive procedures. This trial involves residents in emergency medicine and anesthesia/critical care of the University of Padova (Italy) with the following procedures performed on high-fidelity manikins, after being divided into two groups (wearing and not wearing PPE): positioning of peripheral venous access; intraosseous access; drug preparation and administration; tension pneumothorax (PNX) needle decompression; tourniquet positioning; chest compressions. The primary outcome was the chest compressions depth mean difference between the two groups. As secondary outcomes, the investigators measured differences between the two groups in: the percentages of correct release during chest compressions; chest compressions rate (beats per minute); and the times needed to complete the above-mentioned procedures (other than chest compressions). The investigators expect that PPE will reduce CPR quality or delay the completion of the procedures.
Triple Tourniquets With or Without Tranexamic Acid for Reducing Blood Loss at Open Myomectomy
MyomaIn this study, the investigators will investigate the effectiveness of an intravenous tranexamic acid plus triple tourniquets compared with triple tourniquets alone for the reduction of blood loss at the time of myomectomy
Endoscopic Variceal Ligation in Children
Esophageal Varices in Cirrhosis of the LiverUpper Gastrointestinal Bleeding2 moreThis is an ambispective single-center cohort study of pediatric patients with portal hypertension and esophageal varices. The study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of primary prophylaxis with endoscopic variceal ligation to prevent upper gastrointestinal bleeding compared to non-selected beta-blockers prophylaxis.
