Hepatitis B

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety, immunogenicity and reactogenicity of MPL-adjuvanted recombinant hepatitis B vaccine in comparison with those of Engerix™-B in healthy adult volunteers following two different schedules: 0, 2 months and 0, 6 months

An Hepatitis B Vaccine Model for HIV Vaccine Trials in Drug Users

Hepatitis B InfectionHepatitis C Infection1 more

The goal of the proposed study is to use the HBV vaccine as a model for a future HIV vaccine trial, examining the efficacy of community-based outreach intervention as well as an accelerated vaccine schedule as a method for increasing acceptance/adherence with HBV vaccination protocols among not-in-treatment drug users. This study will also examine the effect of HBV vaccination coupled with community-based outreach intervention on reducing the incidence of HIV, HBV and HCV infections and the frequency of needle use and sexual risk behaviors related to these viral transmissions. A secondary purpose will be to assess the antibody response after HBV vaccination as a measurement of immunological response in drug users.

Hepatitis B Vaccination (HBV) in HIV Infected Children

HIV Infections

The purpose of this study is : To evaluate prevalence of protective hepatitis B antibody comparing intradermal (ID) and intramuscular (IM) route in antiHbsAb negative HIV infected children treated with highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) To revaccinate the HBV vaccine in the children who didn't have protective HBV Ab

Immune Response of Healthy Subjects Who Received Neonatal Vaccination Course With Engerix™-B Vaccine....

Hepatitis B

This study will evaluate the immune response of healthy subjects who received neonatal vaccination course with GSK Biologicals' Engerix™-B vaccine, approximately 20 years ago. The presence of immune memory against hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in these subjects will be investigated by the administration of a challenge dose of hepatitis B vaccine and the comparison of their antibody concentration before and one month after vaccination. This protocol posting deals with objectives & outcome measures of the booster phase. No new subjects will be recruited during this booster phase of the study.

Hepatitis BAcellular Pertussis4 more

The purpose of this study is to assess the safety in terms of fever (rectal temperature) higher than 39 degree Celcius (°C) and the immunogenicity in terms of antibody response following a booster vaccination with pneumococcal vaccine GSK1024850A at 11 to 18 months of age in children previously primed with the same vaccines including a pneumococcal conjugate vaccine co-administered with a diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis (DTPa)-combined and meningococcal serogroup C (MenC) or combined meningococcal serogroup C and Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib-MenC) vaccine. This protocol posting deals with objectives & outcome measures of the booster phase. The objectives & outcome measures of the primary phase are presented in a separate protocol posting (NCT number = NCT00334334).

Hepatitis B

To assess the efficacy, immune response and safety of 2 doses of HRV vaccine (at different concentrations) in healthy infants aged approximately 3 months previously uninfected with human rotavirus.

Diphtheria; Haemophilus Influenzae Type b; Hepatitis B; Tetanus; Whole Cell Pertussis

This study will only include infants born to mothers who are tested as seronegative for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) & hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). The purpose of this study is to demonstrate in infants who received a birth dose of hepatitis B vaccine that Tritanrix™-HepB/Hib-MenAC vaccine is at least as good as Tritanrix™-HepB/Hiberix™ with respect to immunogenicity of the hepatitis B antigen.
