Hepatitis C

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of triple therapy of AbbVie adults with chronic hepatitis C virus ("HCV"), who have not responded to prior treatment with protease inhibitors. The "Triple therapy" of AbbVie attacks various sites of the viral genome, thus increasing the potential efficacy of the treatment, especially for patients who have failed PI treatment.

Therapy With Ledipasvir/Sofosbuvir in Patients With Genotype 1 HCV Infection Receiving Opiate Substitution...

Chronic Hepatitis C

Patients with chronic hepatitis C that are under opiate substitution therapy are likely to have psychiatric comorbidities such as depression; hence an Interferon based therapy is contraindicated. Additionally many of these patients have a borderline compliance, which makes it impossible to treat them at specialized hepatological centers. An ideal opportunity to treat this patients is treatment with DAAs (Direct Acting Antiviral) which can be administered daily together with the opiate substitution therapy at a low threshold facility.

A Registry for Adolescent and Pediatric Participants Who Received a Gilead Hepatitis C Virus Direct...

Hepatitis C Virus Infection

This Registry will enroll adolescent and pediatric participants who received at least one Gilead Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) direct acting antiviral (DAA) while participating in a Gilead-sponsored chronic hepatitis C clinical trial. The primary objective of this Registry is to determine the long-term safety of anti-HCV regimens in the pediatric population. Secondary objectives of this Registry are to determine whether subsequent detection of HCV RNA in participants who relapse following sustained virologic response (SVR) represents the re-emergence of pre-existing virus, the development of resistance mutations, or whether it is due to re-infection, and to characterize resistance mutations and the persistence of resistance mutations in pediatric participants who did not achieve SVR. Once enrolled, participants will be followed for up to 5 years.

Chronic Hepatitis C Genotype 1BMetabolic Syndrome4 more

This is a multi-center, open-label trial of Elbasvir/ Grazoprevir 50/100 mg fixed dose combination 12 week treatment aimed to evaluate SVR12 in treatment naïve patients with chronic hepatitis C (genotype 1b) infection, associated with of metabolic syndrome. The study to be conducted in conformance with Good Clinical Practices. A total of 60 subjects will be studied at 2 sites in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Males and Females treatment naïve patients with CHC genotype 1b infection associated with metabolic syndrome (MS), 18-70 years of age, with or without severe fibrosis / compensated cirrhosis will be enrolled. SVR 12 (primary endpoint) will be evaluated. Patients will be stratified by fibrosis stage and presence of metabolic syndrome components. Interim Analysis will be performed in order to estimate viral kinetics, applicability of SVR4 and durability of SVR12 by evaluation of virologic response at week 4 and 8 of treatment and follow-up at week 4 (SVR 4) and 24 will be performed - this will be a descriptive summary only without hypothesis testing. The main hypothesis is that 12-week therapy with MK-5172 in combination with MK-8742 for treatment-naïve patients with HCV genotype 1b with metabolic syndrome is not notably worse than the same course for treatment-naïve patients with HCV genotype 1b without metabolic syndrome.

Hepatitis CLichen Planus2 more

This study will be conducted on 30 patients with mucocutaneous complaints and documented HCV infection. The study will be done at Tropical medicine department , Tanta university. It will be conducted between June2014 and November 2014. The aim of the study is to assess efficacy of Ribavirin in the management of mucocutaneous extrahepatic manifestations of HCV infection.

Retrieval of Hepatitis C Patients Lost to Follow-up

Hepatitis C

The main purpose of the study is to compare the efficacy of two strategies aimed to rescue patients lost to follow-up with active infection or with positive HCV antibodies without RNA request to complete evaluation and prescription of treatment in cases of chronic infection. After patient identification from data files of laboratory and microbiology charts, patients will be randomized to: a) phone call, and b) invitation letter, both of two strategies including a scheduled appointment with the hepatologist.
