Study to Evaluate the Safety and Immunogenicity of Combined Hepatitis A/B Vaccine With MenACWY-CRM...
Meningococcal DiseaseMeningococcal Meningitis2 moreThis study compares the safety and immunogenicity profile of combined hepatitis A/B vaccine given alone or concomitantly with MenACWY-CRM to healthy adults.

Safety Study of a Tenofovir-containing Drug Regimen for the Prevention of Mother-to-child Transmission...
HIVHepatitis BThe purpose of this study is to compare a regimen of tenofovir/lamivudine/lopinavir-ritonavir to the WHO-recommended and locally practiced standard of care regimen consisting of zidovudine/lamivudine/lopinavir-ritonavir during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy in HIV and HBV co-infected women. This is a phase II study evaluating the safety of the test regimen in pregnant women and their newborns. While the study is not powered to examine efficacy, preliminary estimates of transmission of HIV and HBV to the infants and of the rate of resistance development will be obtained.

Safety and Immunogenicity of a Booster Dose of GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Biologicals' Hepatitis B Vaccine...
Hepatitis BIn this study, subjects who received primary neonatal vaccination with hepatitis B vaccine at 0, 1, 2, 12 months, 20 years ago in the 103860/272 primary study will be evaluated for immunological memory to hepatitis B vaccine via assessment of the response to a vaccine challenge dose.

An Hepatitis B Vaccine Model for HIV Vaccine Trials in Drug Users
Hepatitis B InfectionHepatitis C Infection1 moreThe goal of the proposed study is to use the HBV vaccine as a model for a future HIV vaccine trial, examining the efficacy of community-based outreach intervention as well as an accelerated vaccine schedule as a method for increasing acceptance/adherence with HBV vaccination protocols among not-in-treatment drug users. This study will also examine the effect of HBV vaccination coupled with community-based outreach intervention on reducing the incidence of HIV, HBV and HCV infections and the frequency of needle use and sexual risk behaviors related to these viral transmissions. A secondary purpose will be to assess the antibody response after HBV vaccination as a measurement of immunological response in drug users.

Study of Long-term Peg Intron vs. Colchicine in Non-responders.
Hepatitis C VirusAdvanced Fibrosis1 moreIn this study Peg-Intron will be tested to see if it will give better results than Colchicine. At this time, there is currently no recommended maintenance treatment for patients who have failed to respond to Interferon/Rebetron/Peg Intron and have advanced fibrosis. The purpose of this study is to compare two treatments to slow down the progression of liver disease and to prevent liver failure and liver cancer. The treatment will not cure Hepatitis C, but is being evaluated to see if it can slow down disease progression.

Efficacy Study of Combined Hepatitis A and Hepatitis B Vaccine to Protect Against Hepatitis B in...
Hepatitis BDoes vaccinating hemodialysis patients with Twinrix® (combination vaccine against hepatitis A and hepatitis B) result in a difference in hepatitis B antibody response in comparison to the monovalent hepatitis B vaccine? Hepatitis B infection is an important cause of mortality and morbidity. Current standard vaccination practices have low efficacy levels in patients (eg. hemodialysis patients) who are most susceptible of infection. Efficacy of the two regiments will be studied.

Immunogenicity & Safety of Hepatitis A Vaccine Co-admin With a Measles/Mumps/Rubella & a Varicella...
Hepatitis AThis is a study to evaluate the immune response and safety of GSK Biologicals 2-dose inactivated hepatitis A vaccine when administered with a measles/mumps/rubella vaccine and a varicella (chickenpox) vaccine in children as young as 15 months of age. The Protocol Posting has been updated in order to comply with the FDA Amendment Act, Sep 2007.

Long Term F/U Studies at Y5&6 to Demonstrate the Equivalence of 2 Vaccination Schedules of Combined...
Hepatitis BHepatitis ATo evaluate the persistence of immune response 5 years and 6 years after the first vaccine dose.

Comparative Study in Healthy Adults Aged 18-50 Yrs Administered With Hepatyrix or Havrix+Typherix...
Hepatitis ATo evaluate the immunogenicity, reactogenicity and safety of Hepatyrix when compared to the concomitant administration of Typherix and Havrix, and when compared to the administration of monovalent vaccines, Havrix or Typhim Vi. Furthermore, the study will evaluate the persistence of anti-Vi and anti-HAV antibodies up to 36 months after administration of the first dose of the study vaccine.

Study of ChimeriVax™-Japanese Encephalitis Vaccine in Toddlers in Thailand and the Philippines
Japanese EncephalitisHepatitis AThis study is to assess the safety and immunogenicity of three consecutive lots of JE-CV in toddlers aged 12-18 months. Primary objective: To demonstrate the bio-equivalence of three lots of JE-CV vaccine manufactured by sanofi pasteur. Secondary objective: To describe the safety of vaccination in all subjects
