Nationwide Results on Chronic Pain After Bilateral Transabdominal Preperitoneal Inguinal Hernia...
HerniaInguinal1 moreDanish male patients who had undergone bilateral TAPP (July 2012 to June 2013) were recruited from the Danish Hernia Database and cross-checked with hospital files and the National Patient Registry. A standardized postal questionnaire was sent out two years after the index surgery to investigate Patients Related Outcome Measures (PROMs) such as chronic post-operative pain.
Mesh Fixation inTEP Inguinal Hernia Repair
Inguinal HerniaMesh fixation is used to prevent recurrence in TEP to the potential cost of pain. The aim was to evaluate the impact of permanent fixation (PF) versus non-permanent fixation (N-PF) of mesh in TEP repair for a primary inguinal hernia regarding chronic pain. A cohort of patients were studied for pain interfering with sexual activety. The hyopthesis is that fixation causes pain.
Pain and Convalescence After Laparoscopic Groin Hernia Repair
Inguinal HerniaConvalescenceThe investigators want to identify limiting factors for short convalescence after laparoscopic groin hernia repair. Before the operation patients are given intensive structured information about one day´s convalescence. Patients fill out questionnaire before operation about several clinically relevant parameters. This is also done first 3 days after operation and after 1 month and 6 months. The patients are seen for clinical control at 1 and 6 months.
Persistent Pain After Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair
PainPostoperative2 moreDescribe and characterizes laparoscopic postherniotomy patients with persistent moderate/severe pain affecting every day activities - including detailed quantitative sensory assessment
Prevalence Rates of USI, BO, DO and Their Clinical and Urodynamic Findings in Women With ≥Stage...
Lower Urinary Tract Symptom in Severe Cystocele WomenPrevalence rates of urodynamic stress incontinence (USI), bladder oversensitivity (BO) /detrusor overactivity (DO) or both and their related clinical and urodynamic findings in women with ≥ pelvic organ prolapse quantification stage II cystocele are important for clinical consultation. Thus, the aim of this study was to elucidate the above findings and between-group associations.
Pelvis Displacement and Gait Indicators in Patient With Lumbar Disc Herniation
Lumbar Disc HerniationGait Analysis1 moreThe purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation between pattern of gait and pelvic displacement in patients with lumbar disc herniation.
Chronic Pain After Groin Hernia Surgery in Women
HerniaInguinal2 moreThe goal of this study was to evaluate chronic pain and reoperation rates due to recurrence after groin hernia surgery in women compared to men and surgical method.
Incisional Hernia Rate After Single-incision Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy
CholelithiasisSingle-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy (SILC) requires a larger incision than standard laparoscopy, which may increase the incidence of incisional hernias. This study evaluated SILC and standard multiport cholecystectomy with respect to perioperative outcomes, hospital stay, cosmetic results, and postoperative complications, including the 5-years incisional hernia rate.
Mesh and Mesh Fixation in Laparoscopic Groin Hernia Surgery
HerniaInguinal10 moreThe study attempts to quantify the relative risks for recurrence depending on complex combinations of plausible risk factors, in particular mesh, mesh fixation, hernia size and hernia type. For this purpose the investigators will analyze data from the Swedish Hernia Registry (SHR).
Prevalence of Sarcopenia and Undernutrition in Patients With Cirrhosis and Abdominal Hernia
CirrhosisSarcopenia3 moreThe study evaluates whether sarcopenia influences the prevalence of abdominal hernias in patients with cirrhosis.
