Comparison of the Sensitive Cutaneous Block Distribution Following Femoral Nerve Block Using Two...

Regional AnesthesiaFemoral Nerve Block

In this study, we will be comparing two approaches to the femoral block. The first or classical approach and one that is the most popular in our institution is used by combining ultrasound guidance and neurostimulator to do the block. The second is performed with the ultrasound alone aiming at the inferolateral aspect of the femoral artery with the needle and injecting. The primary endpoint of the study is the sensitive cutaneous block distribution using both techniques.

Evaluation of Allergy to Potato in a Large Cohort

Allergy

Patients consulting in the Allergy Unit of the Arnaud de Villeneuve Hospital for whatever suspicion of allergy were asked to participate in the study. Besides a standard battery of respiratory allergens, native raw and cooked potato were tested by means of the prick to prick method, using a metal lancet.

The Causative Insects in Severe Insect Sting Allergy

Insect Sting Allergy

Study the causative insect by skin prick test and sIgE to wasp, bee and fire ants are important but false positive by crossreactivity can occur. sIgE to recombinant venom allergen is proposed to help in finding the causative insect.

A RCT to Compare Post-operative Sensitivity of Restorations With Fill-Up, a Dual Curing Composite...

Postoperative Sensitivity of Existing Dental Filling Materials

The trial compares patient-reported postoperative sensitivity of 2 existing dental filling materials. The dental filling materials will be used according to manufacturer's instructions and within the existing CE marked licence. We are interested in investigating which licensed material confers the least postoperative discomfort to our patients in normal clinical use.

Comparison of Simulated Standard Versus Modified Jaw Thrust I-gel Insertion Technique in Novice...

Training GroupSensitivity1 more

The primary objective of study was to compare insertion ease by modified I-gel jaw thrust insertion technique and standard I-gel insertion technique on the basis of I-gel insertion attempts and I-gel insertion time duration. The secondary objective of study was to analyse the impact of prior information for airway device, insertion techniques, general or specific work experience in airway management with the ease of both study's insertion techniques. And, tertiary objective of study was to analyse the trainee's preference insertion technique at the basis of learning method and practical adaptability. Hypothesis: The modified I-gel jaw thrust insertion technique is easy to understand and practice than the standard I-gel insertion technique at the beginning of airway management training among the novice anesthesiologists.

Basophil Activation Test (BAT) Sensitivity in Child Food Allergy

Allergy to EggAllergy to Peanut

Child food allergy represent 6 to 8% of child in industrialised country. Within this allergy, peanuts and egg allergy are one of the most common. Actually when there is a suspicion of food allergy, the OPT is the gold standard for the diagnosis. During the OPT we give increasing doses of the allergen to the patient and evaluate threshold causing a clinical reaction. This test is associated with a risk of strong allergic reaction and need a medical supervision. Standard allergy test, like skin test or specific IgE test, can't be use for the diagnosis of these allergy. Some publications demonstrate that these tests lack sensibility and specificity for child food allergy diagnosis. New tests have to be develop to diagnosis child food allergy without risks. The BAT is a cellular test able to evaluate the basophiles activation by specific allergen in vitro. This test allow us to evaluate more physiologically the sensitization of patients to an allergen. It is already used in drug allergy and it has been evaluated in infant milk allergy in an other clinical trial. In this study we want to evaluate the sensitivity of BAT to the diagnosis of child food allergy compare to the gold standard test OPT. We will evaluate the BAT on 140 children with food allergy and compare this results with the OPT at the same time. If the BAT results can predict the sensitivity of children to food allergen, it could limit the use of the OPT and reduce the risk of this test.

Skin Prick Test for the Diagnosis of Food Allergy- a Comparison of Different Commercial Extracts...

Food Allergy

Immediate food allergy is , sometimes , a life threatening situation . Diagnosis is done by skin prick test with commercial extracts. Nevertheless, some of the extracts are not optimal and reproduce false negative results (no allergy) in patients with history highly suggestive of allergic reaction. The aim of this study is to compare the reproducibility of different commercial extracts and raw food in patients with convincing history of acute allergic symptoms related to food .
