Study to Determine Skin Irritation and/or Sensitization Potential of an Antifungal Cream Containing...
HypersensitivityIn this study researcher want to learn more about possible skin reactions such after repeated application of an antifungal cream containing Trolamine. They are especially interested in skin irritations or allergic skin reactions. The study plans to enroll about 225 female or male participants with the age 18 - 79 years. The antifungal test cream will be applied on the back between the shoulder blades of the participants and covered by a special dressing patch. This will be repeated 3 times a week for the first 3 weeks of this study applying the cream on the same area of the back. At each visit the skin will be investigated for redness, dryness and other reactions. After a rest period of two weeks the test cream will be applied on the same skin area as before and on a second new skin area nearby. After 2 and 4 days the two skin areas will again be investigated for redness, dryness and other reactions.
Dental Cement in Post-operative Sensitivity: Randomized Clinical Trial
Restored Decayed Teeth and Post-operative SensitivityContext: CEMENT PBS CIMMO DTA® has physical and biological properties that classify it as a biocompatible material and inducer of biomineralization, attributes that qualify it as material as an indirect pulp capper in permanent tooth restorations. Objective: The present clinical study proposes the use of PBS CIMMO DTA® cement as an indirect pulp capper, in resin restorations composed of permanent molars and premolars. The objective was to minimize postoperative sensitivity arising from restorative procedures. Method: Randomized clinical trial with two arms, double blind, interventional, prospective. The sample consisted of 20 male patients, with an average age of 20 years. Totaling 70 teeth to be treated. The teeth were divided into two groups: Group R (Control Group, n = 35), treated with a standard restorative procedure. Group D (Study group n = 35), treated using CEMENT PBS CIMMO DTA®, as an indirect capper of the pulp wall. The evaluation was carried out by a masked examiner for both groups. Sensitivity tests were performed before the restorative procedure, at 48 hours, 7, 15 and 30 days after the procedure. The analysis included pain caused by thermal stimuli: Cold Test (TM); horizontal (TPH) and vertical (TPV) percussion; Bite Test (TM) and Pain Decline Time (DD) was measured. Measured using Visual Analog Scale (EVA).
Detection of Metabolite Biomarkers for the Early Diagnosis and Prognosis of Cow's Milk Allergy in...
Cow Milk AllergyFood AllergyIn this study, fecal and urine samples will be collected from children diagnosed with : IgE mediated cow's milk allergy, suspected of a cow's milk allergy, but with negative diagnosis IgE mediated food allergy other than cow's milk healthy brothers and sisters of the first three groups A subset of patients with IgE-mediated cow's milk allergy will be asked to provide a urine and fecal sample yearly for prognostic purposes. The samples will be analyzed using a technique called metabolomics to identify biomarker candidates with diagnostic and/or prognostic potential. Additionally, microbiome analysis will be performed to map the microbiome of all groups.
Post-operative Sensitivity in Composite Restorations
Class II Dental CariesSensitivity1 moreParticipants will be divided into groups. In group A, Composite restoration done using oblique incremental technique. In group B, Bulk-fill technique was used. VAS scoring to evaluate the primary outcome at one day, one week and two weeks.
A Pilot Study to Assess Nominal Versus Controlled Stimuli on Dentinal Hypersensitivity
Dentin SensitivityThis pilot study will evaluate the use of nominal stimuli to assess dentinal hypersensitivity response relative to a clinically-controlled stimulus.
Impact of Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) Surgery on Skeletal Muscle Mass and Insulin Sensitivity,...
Coronary Artery DiseaseIn this study, the investigators want to examine the impact of coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery on skeletal muscle mass, muscle metabolism, and insulin sensitivity in 90 subjects. In extent, the impact of a subsequent exercise intervention will be examined, with a follow-up up to 12 months after surgery.
Growth and Plasma Amino Acids in Infants With CMPA and Treated With a Newly Innovated Amino Acid...
Cow Milk AllergyThe purpose of this study is to determine growth and protein status of infants with cow's milk protein allergy and treated with a newly innovated amino acid formula compared to those with a commercial amino acid formula.
Efficacy of Potassium Nitrate Solution in Reducing Dentinal Hypersensitivity
Dentine HypersensitivityAn exploratory study investigating the direct application of potassium nitrate (KNO3) solutions of different concentrations in reducing dentine hypersensitivity.
Treatment of Egg Allergy in Children Through Oral Desensitization (EGG OIT)
Food HypersensitivityThe purpose of this study is to determine if children with egg allergy can be desensitized to egg protein and if this desensitization can help them outgrow their egg allergy at an earlier time than normal. Our hypothesis is that children with egg allergy can be orally desensitized to egg protein and that this desensitization will help them outgrow their egg allergy at an earlier time than normal.
Serum Proteomics to Predict Gemcitabine Sensitivity in Breast Cancer
Metastatic Breast CancerTumors are heterogeneous with varying response to chemotherapeutic agents. We hypothesize that tumors that are sensitive to a particular chemotherapeutic agent have a distinctive tumor protein profile compared to those that are resistant. We further hypothesize that since tumor is continuously perfused by serum, serum protein profile can be used as a surrogate marker of tumor protein profile. The primary objective of this study is to identify a serum protein profile that predicts gemcitabine/carboplatin sensitivity or resistance in breast cancer patients with prior exposure to anthracyclines and taxanes. Secondary objectives are to establish the serum protein profile of breast cancer patients who have had prior exposure to anthracyclines and taxanes, and to study the pharmacogenetics of gemcitabine toxicity by correlating germline genotype of transporters and drug metabolizing enzymes with plasma and intracellular gemcitabine pharmacokinetics.
