The induction of anesthesia is one of the most critical situations for high-risk-patients undergoing major surgery. For several reasons, it is crucial to maintain adequate blood pressure and cardiac output during this phase. This observational study aims to find out if the choice of the induction agent has a major impact on blood pressure and the use of antihypotensive drugs during the induction and the surgical procedure in heart-failure patients undergoing the implantation of a left ventricular assist device (LVAD).

The main objective is to establish a statistical predictive model of the risk of intradialytic hypotension during hemodialysis (HD) or hemodiafiltration (HDF) sessions based on the measurement of residual blood volume and excess extracellular hydration. The secondary objective is to study the impact of dysfunction in the mechanisms of compensation for decreased blood volume (heart disease, neuropathy, drugs) on the risk of intradialytic hypotension.

The aim of the study is to evaluate whether orthostatic hypotension is associated with nondipping hypertension. Methods and patients: 400 subjects who are referred for 24hABPM will be filled questioner regarding their medical background and medications. This is an observational study to evaluate the role of a Bed side Focus assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography (FATE) in identifying the patients at a potential risk of developing hypotension secondary to general anesthesia induction using the FATE parameters like velocity time integral ( VTI ), Inferior venacava diameter , Caval index and Left ventricular end end diastolic area.

The beach chair position for shoulder operation induces hypotension during general anesthesia. Hypotension is induced by decreased preload and contractility due to anesthesia. Masimo is a pulse oximetry which shows pleth variability index noninvasively. The pleth variability may predict the hypotension during beach chair position.

This research is expected to study ultrasonic measurement of internal jugular vein and inferior vena cava, which can be used as a good index to predict hypotension after anesthesia induction, and its measurement method is simple and quick.
