It aims to answer those questions: İs there any difference between fragility groups in terms of hypothermia frequency during orthopedic surgical procedures? Are there any other factors that influence the frequency of hypothermia such as age, body mass index, room temperature etc. ? Participants body temperature before anestesia application,and before surgery had started was measured and measurament was done during whole procedure. Measuraments had been done by tympanic thermometer.

Measuring the cardiac output in these patients is sometimes important, but difficult, as these patients require an invasive device for measurement. Recently, a non-invasive device based on pulse-contour analysis of the arterial pulse was developed (the Vigileo). Hypothermia changes the pulse contour, so the performance of the Vigileo in patients with induced therapeutic hypothermia is not known. Therefore we conduct this observational study in which the cardiac output of the patients is measured with the traditional method and the Vigileo simultaneously.

Incidence and Risk Factors of Postoperative Hypothermia in Cardiac Surgery
Postoperative Hypothermia in Patients With Cardiopulmonary BypassBackground: Postoperative hypothermia may result in relevant complications such as adverse cardiovascular events, wound infection, and coagulopathy with consecutive blood loss. Patients with open cardiac surgery using cardiopulmonary bypass are particular at risk for hypothermia. The study of Karalapillai and coworkers, analyzing a huge database incl. 43,158 patients with CPB, revealed 66% of them experiencing postoperative hypothermia during the first 24 hours and 0.3% longer than that. During cardiac surgery great parts of body surface including wound surface are exposed. Many of these patients receive large amounts of infusions and transfusions, and undergo hemodilution during CPB, which may additionally contribute to development of hypothermia. Objective of the planned study is to find out incidence and duration of postoperative hypothermia and also risk factors for hypothermia in cardiac patients. Further objective is the incidence of postoperative complications and its relation to postoperative core temperature. Methods: A retrospective chart review 780 patients who had been underwent cardiac surgery with CPB Included are patients ≥ 18 years old. Excluded are patients with preoperative hyperthermia (> 37.8 °C) and hypothermia (> 36 °C). The following parameters will be recorded: temperature is measured at ICU after arrived and after 6 hours which is primary outcome, biometric data include age, sex, body weight, height, ASA physical status, surgical procedure includes emergency cases, anesthetic and surgical (bypass-) times, infusion/transfusion-regimen, blood loss and urine output, coolest temperature during bypass, method of temperature protection, and the outcome of operation . All data will be described in number and percent and Pearson chi-square method will be used for analyze correlation between hypothermia and risk factor . P-value <0.05 will be defined to significant.

The study objectives are to evaluate retention and the feasibility of integrating therapeutic hypothermia using the ZOLL IVTM System.
Accuracy of Non-contact Thermometry
HypothermiaSubjects will be admitted to hospital the evening prior, or the morning of surgery, whereupon they will undergo standard admission processes, including pre-operative assessment by the anaesthetist assigned to that list (One of the two study authors). The anaesthetist will then explain the study again, reiterating the potential risks and benefits of the study to the patient themselves, and to the population as a whole. Consent will be sought at this point. Patients will be transferred to theatre, anaesthetised and operated on as per normal practice. Inclusive of this, in accordance with NICE guidelines, patients will have a nasal or oesophageal Doppler probe inserted to accurately measure core temperature. At this point, patients enrolled in the study will have temperature measurements taken every minute from the oesophageal probe and non-contact thermometers. If the patients requested it previously, they will be informed of the results of the study at a later date. Statistics will then be carried out on the data to compare accuracy of the two novel methods to the oesophageal probe.
