Validation of a New TSH Test
Sub-clinical HypothyroidismHypothyroidism1 moreThe aim of this research project, which is realised with the partnership of the enterprise Siamed'Xpress (Marseille), is to validate a new TSH diagnostic test in vitro, to allow an earlier screening of hypothyroidism. A serum bank will be conserved in the "Centre de Biologie Sud" ("Groupement Hospitalier Lyon Sud"). The serum samples will be assayed locally for the usual medical support to patients and after they will be sent to Siamed'Xpress (Marseille), where they will be assayed with the new diagnostic test. The results obtained from the two techniques will be compared. The validation of this new TSH test represents a major advancement, since it could bring in the future to a therapeutic index which will allow clinicians to treat earlier asymptomatic patients with subclinical hypothyroidism.
Recovering Damaged Cells for Sequelae Caused by COVID-19, SARS-CoV-2
Sequelae of; InfectionPost Infection Glomerulonephritis18 morePost-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause multiple system function disorders, and complicated symptoms last for an extended period. The virus can cause this continued infection, or the virus causes immune system function disorder and post-infectious autoimmune disease. The clinical symptoms can be smell loss, taste loss to liver function disorder, kidney function failure, different. No matter how complicated the systems showed in the clinic, all of the symptoms are due to the specific cells being damaged. Our clinical study is focused on recovering the damaged structure and function of the cells that could restore the organ function back to normal or close to normal
Thyroid Replacement Therapy in Patients With Subclinical Hypothyroidism
Subclinical HypothyroidismsThe purpose of this experiment is to compared the changes of thyroid function, anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody, anti-thyroglobulin antibody, thyroid magnetic resonance T1-mapping and various metabolic indexes from baseline to the end of treatment (after the thyroid function had been normal for more than three months)
Desiccated Thyroid Extract and Levothyroxine for Hypothyroidism Treatment
Primary Hypothyroidism. Our hypothesis is that hypothyroid patients on DTE may have a decrease in symptoms, an improvement of cognitive function, and an increase in sense of well-being/ quality of life equivalently compared with L-T4.
Effects of Levothyroxine Supplementation in Patients With Systolic Heart Failure and Subclinical...
Systolic Heart FailureSub-clinical HypothyroidismThe purpose of this study is to determine whether levothyroxine supplementation is beneficial in patients with systolic heart failure and subclinical hypothyroidism on the functional class evaluated with a 6 minute walk test.
Study to Verify Clinical Utility of Point-of-Care (POC) Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test Kits...
HypothyroidismThis is a Phase 4, single-center, open-label, interventional study, wherein all enrolled subjects will be tested for Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) by using the quantitative and the qualitative Point-of-Care (POC) TSH test kits and the third generation TSH test kit at the same time.
Effect of Levothyroxine on Serum Adiponectin, Insulin Resistance and Cardiovascular Risk in Patients...
HypothyroidismThe aim of this study is to evaluate plasma adiponectin level, insulin resistance, cardiovascular risk and their correlation (if any) in patients with hypothyroidism and also to investigate the effect of levothyroxine on these parameters. The study may explore the lacunae in present treatment protocol and can suggest the possibilities of add-on therapies for a better management.
Monitoring and Evaluation of the Levothyroxin Replacement Therapy in Pregnant Women With Hypothyroidism...
HypothyroidismThe aim of the study was to evaluate the clinical control program in patients with hypothyroidism during pregnancy (suggested in resent guidelines). Is it possible by monitoring the patients every 4. week during pregnancy to keep the thyroid function parameters within the recommended range? A retrospective study of consecutive pregnant women with hypothyroidism followed at the outpatient clinic at the Endocrinology Unit, Herlev Hospital, Denmark during 2012. Patients selected through electronic medical system. Blood tests for the The hormone levels drawn from the laboratory of Clinical Biochemical Department, Herlev Hospital
Iodine Supplementation in Obesity
Iodine DeficiencySubclinical HypothyroidismThe study hypothesis is that iodine supplementation will lower serum TSH and leptin concentrations and thereby improve the lipid and glucose profile.
Maternal Hypothyroidism in Pregnancy
HypothyroidismThere is general agreement that thyroid gland function should be assessed in pregnant women. When the gland produces too little thyroid hormone (hypothyroidism), all of the woman's bodily functions slow down, and there are problems with her baby's development. Until now, physicians have identified this problem on an individual basis (case-finding), but this approach misses many of the cases. Our trial aims to replace case-finding with a routine blood test that is highly effective at detecting hypothyroidism, thereby allowing treatment to correct the deficiency. This approach can eventually be implemented throughout the United States.
