This clinical trial tests the hypotheses that 1) body decolonization of patients with recurrent community-associated (CA) MRSA infections and their household members and 2) environmental decolonization of the patients' households will significantly reduce the likelihood of recurrent CA-MRSA infection.

The technique has been evaluated in a previous randomised study. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the technique after it has been introduced in clinical practise to monitor the bacterial antibiotic susceptibility and to verify that the suggested reduction in sternal wound infection still exits.

Trial to Reduce Wound Infection With Contralateral Drainage in Loop Ileostomy Closure

Surgical Wound Infection

Introduction: The most common complication of loop ileostomies closure for rectal cancer patients undergoing a low anterior rectum resection, is the superficial surgical site infection (incidence 2-40%). There are various techniques related to closing loop ileostomy. In a retrospective study at our center, the investigators objectify that superficial surgical site infection rate was reduced by more than a half by the application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in primary loop ileostomy closure. Objectives and Hypothesis: Hypothesis: The application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in primary loop ileostomy closure (in carriers of loop ileostomy by a low anterior rectum resection for rectal cancer) reduces the superficial surgical site infection. Main objective: To reduce the rate of superficial surgical site infection by the application of a contralateral drainage (Penrose ®) in surgical wound of primary loop ileostomy closure. Methodology: Prospective and randomized clinical trial on the effectiveness of contralateral Penrose® drainage implementation in those patients that have a primary loop ileostomy (by low anterior rectum resection) closure to be able to know if the investigators can reduce the superficial surgical site infection rate. Vaccine Social Media Randomized Intervention Trial

This study will assess the effectiveness of social media website devoted to vaccines to change immunization knowledge, perceptions and behavior. If effective, this intervention will represent an innovative, low cost and broadly applicable resource to reduce parental vaccination concerns. The study has two hypothesis: Parents receiving usual care plus social media website will demonstrate higher early childhood immunization rates to parents receiving either usual plus non interactive website or usual care only. Parents receiving usual care plus social media website will demonstrate positive changes in knowledge, attitudes and beliefs supporting vaccination compared to parents receiving either usual care plus non-interactive website or usual care only.

Cranberry and cranberry-lingonberry juice prevented urinary tract infections in children and in adults in our earlier clinical trials. The preventive effect was, however, observed late in the follow-up and the next recurrence was not prevented in children. The investigators hypothesize that cranberry-lingonberry juice should be started already during the antimicrobial treatment of acute urinary tract infection in order to maximize the preventive efficacy of the juice. In addition, the investigators aim to find the explanation for the efficacy of cranberry-lingonberry juice by analyzing the concomitant changes in the chemical composition of urine and feces as well as the changes of gut microbiota.
