Spinal cord injury is a multi-sensory, motor and autonomic dysfunction, caused by various types of acute and chronic central nervous system injuries. And it will affect patient's ability to live normally and return to society. Due to lack of physical activity and psychological and environmental factors, the feces remain in the intestine for too long, and there will be excessive water absorption and lead to dryness and difficulty in excretion and it will be constipation. Chinese medicine, acupuncture and acupressure are the treatments of constipation in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Acupressure is a non- invasive intervention which is easy to learn and apply. We have carried out a number of studies on spinal cord injury rehabilitation support and acupressure to solve chronic problems such as constipation and anxiety. And this study aims to investigate the effects of acupressure combined with nursing intervention on constipation and quality of life in community-dwelling spinal cord injury patients.

Inhaled Nitric Oxide for Microvascular Dysfunction in Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) causes acute deficits in cerebral perfusion which may lead to secondary injury and worse outcomes. Inhaled nitric oxide (iNO) is a vasodilator that increases cerebral blood flow and is clinically used for hypoxic respiratory failure in neonates and adults. The investigators will perform a randomized controlled trial of iNO treatment in TBI patients acutely after injury. The investigators will then assess perfusion changes with optic neuromonitoring, blood biomarkers, and 6 month clinical outcomes.

As compared to the general population, those living with a spinal cord injury (SCI) are at a greater risk of cardiovascular (CV) diseases.The investigators know that regular exercise can help lessen the risk of CV diseases. However, those with higher level SCI have a limited ability to exercise due to their loss of function. Heat therapy has been shown to promote significant health benefits in populations with health challenges and has demonstrated a mild exercise like response. The investigators aim to extend these findings and develop a practical passive heat therapy program appropriate for safe home use.

As part of this study, participants will be asked to attend weekly EAET treatment sessions and complete assessments (including pre-treatment, post-treatment, and follow-up) consisting of questionnaires and sensory testing procedures.

The main questions it aims to answer are: What is the incidence of acute kidney injury in intensive care patients? What are risk factors for development of acute kidney injury? All adult patients admitted to the ICU with a stay of 48 h or more will be included in the study.

The goal of this clinical trial is to analyse the effect of an intervention program based on hamstring flexibility on the extensibility and curvatures of the spine in dancers. Participants will be dance student with ten years of experience that will undergo a program of stretching four times per week during seven weeks, followed by a detraining period, and a retraining period of three weeks. There will be a pre-test, a post-test and two re-tests after the intervention. The results will be compared with a control group of dancers that will not take part in the stretching program.

Transcutaneous Spinal Cord Stimulation to Promote Walking Recovery After Spinal Cord Injury

The goal of this clinical trial is to investigate the effects of transcutaneous spinal cord stimulation (TSCS) combined with exoskeleton training, as compared to exoskeleton training alone to improve motor function in individuals with incomplete spinal cord injury who are 12 months or less post-injury. Participants will be randomly assigned to a treatment group (exoskeleton training with TSCS, or exoskeleton training without TSCS). Participants in both groups will undergo a baseline evaluation, then take part in 24, 1-hour training sessions at Craig Hospital. After the 24 sessions have concluded, participants will undergo a post-treatment evaluation as well as a follow-up evaluation four weeks after training is completed. Researchers will compare the two groups by evaluating the following areas: walking ability and speed lower extremity strength, activation, and spasticity trunk control bowel and bladder function
