Radial Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy for Acute Hamstring Muscle Complex Injury Type 3b in Athletes...

Athletic Injuries

This study tests the hypothesis that the combination of radial extracorporeal shock wave therapy performed with the Swiss DolorClast device (Electro Medical Systems, Nyon, Switzerland) and a specific rehabilitation program (hereafter, "rESWT + RP") is effective and safe in treatment of acute hamstring muscle complex injury Type 3b, and is statistically significantly more effective than the combination of sham-rESWT and RP (hereafter, "sham-rESWT + RP").

Lidocaine Reduces Muscle Tremor is Beneficial for Intraoperative Recurrent Laryngeal Nerve Monitoring...

Thyroid CancerNeck Cancer3 more

In recent years, the application of intraoperative recurrent laryngeal nerve monitoring in thyroid surgery has greatly reduced the complications of recurrent laryngeal nerve injury. The use of intraoperative neurological monitoring requires the reduction of the dose of neuromuscular blockade, which often leads to muscle tremors during the application of electrical energy, which affects the fine separation around the muscles. This study explored the effect of local application of lidocaine on reducing muscle tremor during surgery and its optimal dose.

Nebulised Heparin to Reduce COVID-19 Induced Acute Lung Injury

Covid19ARDS4 more

The investigators present a randomised open label phase Ib/IIa trial of nebulised unfractionated heparin to evaluate the effect of nebulised unfractionated heparin on the procoagulant response in ICU patients with SARS-CoV-2 requiring advanced respiratory support. As this is one of the first studies of nebulised heparin in COVID 19 lung disease the investigators will assess safety as a co-primary outcome.

Microsurfaced Grafts in Deep Burn Wounds

BurnsWound Heal

This study is designed as a prospective, randomized, within subject controlled design to evaluate the effectiveness of Microsurfaced vs Control cadaveric grafts for coverage of acute deep-partial or full-thickness burn wounds to promote wound healing. This study will be performed in 2 parts: Time to wound bed preparedness through 6 weeks (Part A) and wound site healing, graft take and long-term scar outcomes (Part B). Subjects will be treated with both control and microsurfaced cadaveric grafts on adjacent deep-partial or full-thickness burn wounds.

Healing Chronic Venous Stasis Wounds With Autologous Cell Therapy

WoundNonpenetrating

This is a prospective, randomized, single-site, safety and efficacy study of subjects with chronic venous stasis ulcers. Patients will fall into two categories: treatment arm (24 subjects) and non-treatment or control arm (12 subjects). The treatment group will undergo a small liposuction procedure and receive placement of autologous cell therapy (stromal vascular fraction or SVF) injected around the rim of venous stasis wound (subcutaneously)following standard wound debridement, with saturation of collagen dressing material with standard over-dressing. Control (non-treatment) subjects will receive debridement and dressing changes as per standard of care without SVF.

Pirfenidone Effect on the Recovery of Renal Function in Septic Acute Kidney Injury

Acute Kidney InjurySepsis

Patients with Septic AKI will be randomized in three arms, group PFD 1,200 will receive PDF 600mg every 12 hrs per mouth, group PDF 600 will receive PFD 600mg in the morning and placebo equivalent at night and Group Placebo will receive placebo every 12 hrs, all for 7 days, all receive conventional treatment KDIGO guides. We analyze the recovery of renal function as a primary objective.
