Osseodensification Versus Conventional Drilling for Implant Site Preparation
Dental Implant FailedJaw4 moreA total of 34 participants, who require replacement of an anterior or posterior single tooth with dental implant, will be randomly allocated to two equal sized groups. In the control group, the osteotomy site preparation will be prepared by using conventional surgical drills, while the test group site preparation will involve the use of Densah™ Burs (Versah Co., LLC., USA) as per the osseodensification protocol. In addition to evaluating implant stability, the trial will also report on implant and patient outcomes at various time points.
Evaluation of Marginal Bone Loss and Associated Factors Around Ziacom Dental Implants With Different...
JawEdentulous1 moreDental implants may suffer from bone loss around them, particularly at the upper portion where the prosthesis starts. The connection between both parts of the tooth restoration is key for avoiding micromovement during chewing, bacterial contamination and initiation of bone loss. Thus, investigating factors related to this bone loss in different types of implant-prosthetic connections is key for promoting better use of available therapeutics devices. In this study, we will study marginal bone levels over time as well as bacterial contamination and inflammatory markers in the peri-implant sulcus around implants with connical connection and compare them with those obtained when using implants with internal hexagonal connection. The hypothesis is that bone loss will be higher in implants with hexagonal connection associated with a pathological microbiome in the sulcus that induces a higher inflammatory response.
Multicenter Study to Evaluate the Clinical Outcome of the OmniTaper EV Implant in Single Tooth Restorations...
JawEdentulousThis clinical study, funded by the company Dentsply Sirona, is being carried out to see if the newly developed tooth implant "OmniTaper EV" is safe, effective and functions as intended when replacing a lost or removed tooth. The OmniTaper EV implant is a further development of existing dental implants. It is made of titanium, a metal that is well tolerated by the human body, which has been successfully used in dental implants for more than 40 years. All components used in this study are available on the market, are CE-marked and will be used according to intended use and approved instructions. The study involves at 11 planned clinic visits including follow-up visits 6 months and annually until 5 years after installation of the permanent crown. after over a period of about five and a half years. The treatment method and healing period may vary depending on the individual case and treatment plan and additional visits may therefore need to be scheduled. The visits and procedures are the same as standard of care and no procedures will be done just for purpose of research. The study aims to recruit about 137 men and women from six clinics across Europe (Germany, UK and Switzerland) and participants can only receive one study implant each. Participation is entirely voluntary and participants can choose to withdraw from the study at any time, without giving a reason. The decision to decline or withdraw participation will not affect participants future treatment or care
Evaluation of Implant-prosthetic Rehabilitation Performed With Two Implants With Different Surface...
Missing TeethEdentulous Jaw1 moreIn this case-control study a bioactive implant surface was compared with traditional surfaced implants. Primary objectives: Test the implant stability in post-extractive sites, comparing traditional surfaced implants (MultiNeO CS, control group) to bioactive surfaced implants (NINA- MultiNeO NH, treatment group). Primary outcome endpoints were Implant stability, assessed through Implant stability quotient (ISQ) values and Marginal bone loss (MBL)
Accuracy of Dynamic Navigation and Static Template in Completely Edentulous Patients
Edentulous JawThe study was a prospective, multicentre, randomized parallel controlled clinical trial. Randomisation was conducted by central randomisation, with random allocation codes generated by the main central computer. Enrollment was conducted by competition between different centres. In this study, the coronal, apical and angular deviations (mean, standard deviation, median, quartiles, minimum, maximum, 95% confidence interval) of the static template and dynamic navigation group guided implant placement were calculated. The data is proposed to be analysed using a mixed linear effects model.
Effect of Implant Treatment and/or Dietary Advice on the Nutrition of Edentulous Ageing Subjects...
Edentulous JawPeriodontitisLoss of masticatory function consequent to tooth loss is associated with changes in food choices and insufficient nutrition intake. To date, studies showed no significant improvement in nutrient intake with interventions based solely on dental prostheses. Pilot studies have shown positive impacts of interventions combining implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis with brief dietary interventions. The relative contribution and the potential synergy of the components of such interventions need to be determined as it has major public health implications for the community-dwelling ageing population that continues to disproportionately suffer from tooth loss and its consequences. This study tests the effect of rehabilitation of masticatory function with fixed implant supported dentures and diet re-education on the dietary intake and nutrition in older subjects with terminal dentition (stage IV periodontitis) or full edentulism. A 2 × 2 factorial randomized controlled trial of eligible adult (≥60 years) with loss of masticatory function consequent to full arch edentulism or terminal dentition (n = 120) will be conducted to test whether the rehabilitation of masticatory function with fixed implant supported dentures, diet re-education and/or their combination improves the diet and nutrition of ageing subjects. The study has been designed to detect changes in fruit and vegetable intake at 4 months using the 24-hour dietary recall method. Changes in protein as percentage of total energy, nutritional biomarkers, metabolomics, oral and gut microbiome, quality of life and masticatory function will also be assessed.
Effects of Splinted or Non-splinted Single-unit Crowns on Marginal Bone-level Alterations Around...
JawEdentulous1 moreThe microthreaded and platform switched implants could control the stress in the suitable range. The splint would disturb the function. So it is necessary to know whether the splinted single-unit crowns is fit for the adjacent multi-implants. Outcome variables: Splinted single-unit crowns on one side implants and non-splinted single-unit crowns on the other side Materials and method: 80-100 consecutive implants in at least 20 patients would be included for implant- supported restorations in the posterior maxilla or mandibular. All patients would be in general good health. For every patient, the same posterior teeth had lost on both sides for more than 6 months. All patients were treated by the same qualified surgeon. Prosthetics procedure would be performed by an experienced prosthodontist. The two sides were allocated to the test or the control group according to the predefined computer-generated randomization table. Clinical evaluations and radiographic analysis were performed by an oral and maxillofacial radiologist who was not aware of the type of Prosthetics technique that was used.
Performance of CAD/CAM Milled and 3D-printed Full-arch Implant-supported Provisionals Restorations...
Edentulous JawDental Prosthesis Complication1 moreThis clinical trial aims to compare the performance of CAD/CAM-milled and 3D-printed full-arch implant-supported provisional restorations in patients at the Advanced Implant Prosthetics Clinic of the Complutense University of Madrid, of both sexes, over 18 years of age, edentulous upper, lower or both, whose treatment plan is at least a fixed implant-supported rehabilitation of the complete arch. The main question it aims to answer is if there are differences in the mechanical behavior and optical properties of the materials used as provisional materials in full-arch restorations on implants fabricated by CAD/CAM technology through machining or 3D printing. Participants will: - Receive milled (control material: PMMA; Multilayer PMMA block, HUGE; Shandong Huge Dental Material Corporation) or printed (test material: 3D impression resin; VarseoSmile Temp, Bego Bremer Goldschägerei Wilh. Herbst GmbH & Co. KG, Bremen) and they will be in provisional phase for 3 months doing daily life. Researchers will compare PMMA (Multilayer PMMA block, HUGE; Shandong Huge Dental Material Corporation) and the printed-resin (3D impression resin; VarseoSmile Temp, Bego Bremer Goldschägerei Wilh. Herbst GmbH & Co. KG, Bremen) to see: Mechanical behavior and the absence of complications, fracture of the structure, material jumping or wear, loosening, or detachment. Optical properties, initial color, and degradation of the materials used
Effect of the Abutment-Prosthesis Connection on Marginal Bone Loss and Gingival Sealing Around Dental...
JawEdentulous1 moreIn dental implant restoration, available literature demonstrates the advantage of using tall abutments, with a change of diameter with respect to the implant and a conical internal connection in the abutment-implant gap. However, for multiple restorations, the abutment-prosthesis connection has not been studied in detail. The "multi-unit" systems, both standard and brand specific, have either a flat or butt joint or an cone. In any case, both are external connection systems. Recently, an internal-type abutment-prosthesis connection system has been developed. Although it is proving its usefulness in single restorations, its use in multiple restorations compared to traditional systems has not been studied. Therefore, taking into account all of the above, the present study has the overall objective of analyzing marginal bone loss (MBL) and adaptation of soft tissues by comparing a multiple prosthesis system of the "external, flat" type versus an external system of the "internal, conical" type.
Two-unit Cantilever Implant Prostheses Made of Monolithic Zirconia or PFM
JawEdentulous2 moreThe aim of is to compare the survival rate and technical outcomes of cantilever implant-supported fixed denture prosthetics (cFDPs) made either out of monolithic zirconia bonded to a titanium base in a digital workflow, or porcelain fused-to metal using a gold abutment in a conventional workflow. In addition, biological outcomes, wear patterns, PROMs and time efficiency will be recorded. The null hypothesis is: the reconstruction type does not influence the survival rate and technical outcomes of 2-unit implant-supported cFDP.
