Immediate Loading of Implants in the Partially or Completely Edentulous Jaw

JawEdentulous3 more

The investigators aim to evaluate the biological and mechanical short- and long-term outcome of IL in partially or completely edentulous patients. Moreover, the investigators aim to detect potential influencing risk factors predicting undesirable prosthetic outcome.

Single-implant Overdentures Retained by the Novaloc Attachment System

Edentulous MouthEdentulous Jaw

The objective of this explanatory mixed methods study is to compare a novel attachment system (Novaloc) to a traditional alternative (Locator) for single implants in the mandible of edentate elders. The investigators will carry out a randomized cross-over clinical trial comparing Novaloc attachments to Locators for single-implant mandibular overdentures in edentate elders. Participants will be followed for three months with each attachment type; patient-based, clinical and economic outcomes will be gathered. A sample of 26 participants is estimated to be required to detect clinically relevant differences in terms of the primary outcome (patient ratings of general satisfaction). Participants will choose which attachment they wish to keep, then be interviewed about their experiences and preferences with a single implant prosthesis and with the 2 attachments. Data from the quantitative and qualitative assessments will be integrated through a mixed-methods explanatory strategy. A last quantitative assessment will take place after 12 months with preferred attachment; this latter assessment will enable the observation of attachments' long-term wear and maintenance events.

Mandibular Overdentures Retained by Conventional or Mini Implants

Edentulous MouthEdentulous Jaw

This study aims to compare mandibular overdentures retained either by mini or standard size implants as a treatment for edentulous adults, in terms of patient-reported satisfaction and oral health-related quality of life. We will also evaluate post surgical discomfort, the success rate of prostheses and implants in the long term, denture quality and costs.

Study to Compare Marginal Bone Loss Around Implants From Two Dental Implant Systems.

JawEdentulous1 more

The purpose of this study is to compare marginal bone level changes between ASTRA TECH Implant System; Fixture ST and Biomet 3i; Osseotite® Implants. Subjects with partial edentulism in the posterior maxilla and/or mandible will be included and a one-stage surgical protocol will be used. Implants will be loaded within 15 weeks from installation. The subjects will be followed for 3 years.

Study to Compare Survival for ASTRA TECH Implant System, OsseoSpeed™ Implants Following Immediate...

JawEdentulous1 more

The purpose of this study is to evaluate survival for ASTRA TECH Implant System, OsseoSpeed™ implants following immediate loading in extraction sockets versus immediate loading in healed ridges. Patients in need of single standing implants replacing teeth in the maxilla within zone 15-25 will be included and followed for 5 years. Primary objective is implant survival rate at 12 months.

Correlation of Length of Index Finger to Vertical Dimensions of Occlusion for Edentulous Patients...

Patient SatisfactionDental Prosthesis1 more

This study is a randomized clinical trial comparing the conventional method of recording occlusal vertical dimension using Willis gauge from the base of the nose to the base of the chin with the other method using vernier caliper for the length of the index finger to access the satisfaction level of edentulous patients acquiring complete dentures.

Full-Digital Workflow in Single-Tooth Implant Rehabilitation

Full Digital WorkflowEdentulous Jaw1 more

The digital workflow in dental implantology has been used for planning the cases with the intraoral scanners and computer tomography, together helping clinicians to be more accurate and precise. Today, thanks to digital technology clinicians can plan from surgical to the final prosthesis using 3D models and cad-cam machines. The aim of this research is to validate the full digital workflow for the single-tooth implant rehabilitation. A total of 19 patients (22 implants) were included in the present study with mean follow-up time of 2 years. A full-digital workflow was performed on each patient through the design and printing of a surgical guide, the taking of the impression with an intraoral scanner and the CAD-CAM design of the crowns.

Evaluation of B+ Surface on Early Loading

JawEdentulous1 more

The trial is designed as a consecutive enrollment prospective one-center study. A minimum of 30 patients will be included in the study. At implant installation, the implant will be randomized to one of the groups (Control: conventional loading, 8 weeks; Test: early loading, 4 weeks). Samples of peri-implant crevicular fluid (PICF) and intrasulcular plaque will be collected at -14, 0 (Baseline: prosthesis delivery), 7 days and 1, 3, 6, 12 months. Prosthesis will be fabricated and delivered as usual, i.e., approximately two weeks after the impressions are taken.
