Monoclonal Antibody Therapy (Rencarex®) in Treating Patients Who Have Undergone Surgery for Non-metastatic...
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known whether monoclonal antibody therapy is effective in treating kidney cancer. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying monoclonal antibody therapy to see how well it works in treating patients who have undergone surgery for nonmetastatic primary kidney cancer.
3-AP in Treating Patients With Previously Untreated Locally Recurrent or Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma...
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as 3-AP, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of 3-AP in treating patients who have locally recurrent or metastatic renal cell (kidney) carcinoma (cancer).
S0306, Irinotecan in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Refractory Advanced Transitional Cell Cancer...
Bladder CancerTransitional Cell Cancer of the Renal Pelvis and Ureter1 moreRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy such as irinotecan use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of irinotecan in treating patients who have recurrent or refractory advanced transitional cell cancer of the urothelium.
OSI-774 and Bevacizumab in the Treatment of Patients With Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma
Kidney CancerIn this phase II trial, we plan to evaluate the combination of Tarceva and Avastin in the treatment of patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma. This trial will be one of the first phase II trials to evaluate a combination of targeted agents in the treatment of a common solid tumor with a strong biologic rationale based on Cancer Biology (VHL/HIF/VEGF/EGFr).
DC Vaccine Combined With IL-2 and IFNα-2a in Treating Patients With mRCC
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Vaccines made from a patient's dendritic cells and tumor cells may make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's lymphocytes to kill kidney cancer cells. Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. Combining vaccine therapy with interleukin-2 and interferon alfa may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving vaccine therapy together with interleukin-2 and interferon alfa works in treating patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (kidney cancer).
Denileukin Diftitox in Treating Patients With Metastatic Melanoma or Metastatic Kidney Cancer
Kidney CancerMelanoma (Skin)RATIONALE: Denileukin diftitox may be able to make the body build an immune response to kill tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well denileukin diftitox works in treating patients with metastatic melanoma or metastatic kidney cancer.
Pemetrexed Disodium and Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Advanced Cancer of the Urothelium...
Bladder CancerTransitional Cell Cancer of the Renal Pelvis and Ureter1 moreRATIONALE: Pemetrexed disodium may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking the enzymes necessary for their growth. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining pemetrexed disodium with gemcitabine may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of combining pemetrexed disodium with gemcitabine in treating patients who have advanced cancer of the urothelium.
Interferon Alfa With or Without Interleukin-2 and Fluorouracil in Treating Patients With Advanced...
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of tumor cells. Interleukin-2 may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill tumor cells. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining interferon alfa with interleukin-2 and fluorouracil may kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known whether interferon alfa is more effective with or without interleukin-2 and fluorouracil in treating metastatic kidney cancer. PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of interferon alfa combined with interleukin-2 and fluorouracil to that of interferon alfa alone in treating patients who have advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
PS-341 in Treating Patients With Metastatic Kidney Cancer
Kidney CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop cancer cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. PURPOSE: Phase II trial to study the effectiveness of PS-341 in treating patients who have metastatic kidney cancer.
Intravenous Interleukin-4 PE38KDEL Cytotoxin in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Metastatic Kidney...
Breast CancerKidney Cancer1 moreRATIONALE: Interleukin-4 PE38KDEL cytotoxin may be able to deliver cancer-killing substances directly to solid tumor cells. PURPOSE: Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of intravenous interleukin-4 PE38KDEL cytotoxin in treating patients who have recurrent or metastatic kidney cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, or breast cancer that has not responded to previous treatment.
