Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of Selonsertib (GS-4997) in Participants With Diabetic Kidney...

Diabetic Kidney Disease

The primary objective of this study is to determine the effect of selonsertib (formerly GS-4997) on estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline in participants with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). Participants will be randomized with a 1:1:1:1 allocation to receive 1 of 3 doses of selonsertib (2 mg, 6 mg, or 18 mg) or matching placebo.

The Efficacy of Everolimus in Reducing Total Native Kidney Volume in Polycystic Kidney Disease Transplanted...

Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease

The investigators multicenter randomized open-labelled study will investigate the efficacy of an everolimus based immunosuppression in reducing total native kidney volume in kidney recipients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease compared to a calcineurin inhibitor-based immunosuppression.

Phosphate Lowering in CKD Trial

Chronic Kidney DiseaseCardiovascular Disease

The proposed research is a randomized-controlled trial to determine the effectiveness of reducing serum phosphorus using a phosphate binder, lanthanum carbonate, for improving the function of arteries in adults with moderate to severe chronic kidney disease (CKD). [COMIRB 13-0328] Additionally, it will determine phosphorus balance among adults with CKD and whether there is a difference in phosphorus balance after three months of treatment with lanthanum carbonate. [COMIRB 15-0384]

Uncontrolled, Open Label, Pilot and Feasibility Study of Niacinamide in Polycystic Kidney Disease...

Polycystic Kidney Disease

The goal of this pilot study is to evaluate the feasibility of administering niacinamide to patients with autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease, to develop methods to assess the biological efficacy of niacinamide, and to perform a preliminary exploration of its clinical effect on kidney cyst growth and kidney function.

N-Acetylcysteine and Milk Thistle for Treatment of Diabetic Nephropathy

Diabetic NephropathyProteinuria1 more

The study is done to find out whether the combined use of the nutritional supplements N-acetylcysteine and Siliphos (milk thistle extract) corrects the shedding of urine protein and oxidative damage (damage to cells and organs often compared to fast aging) in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) and diabetic kidney disease.

The Effects of Atorvastatin on the Nitric Oxide-system in Patients With Non-diabetic Nephropathy...

NephropathyCardiovascular Diseases

It has been documented that statin reduce mortality and morbidity in patients with cardiovascular disease. This effect can partly be related to a reduction in cholesterol levels in blood. Nitric oxide (NO) production is reduced in several chronic diseases such as nephropathy, diabetes and hypertension. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of Atorvastatin treatment on the NO-system measuring renal and cardiovascular variables in patients witk chronic kidney disease.
