Prediction of Risk of Hypotension in Hemodialysis
Chronical Kidney DiseaseHypotension2 moreThe main objective is to establish a statistical predictive model of the risk of intradialytic hypotension during hemodialysis (HD) or hemodiafiltration (HDF) sessions based on the measurement of residual blood volume and excess extracellular hydration. The secondary objective is to study the impact of dysfunction in the mechanisms of compensation for decreased blood volume (heart disease, neuropathy, drugs) on the risk of intradialytic hypotension.
Follow-up of Long-term Renal Function After Acute Kidney Injury in ICU
Acute Kidney InjuriesQuality of Life2 moreAcute kidney injury (AKI) involves poor prognosis in ICU patients. The renal prognosis at long term is unknown. The study will determine chronic kidney injury incidence and quality of life, five years after AK during ICU stay.
Morphological Changes of the Brain by MRI in Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic Kidney Disease Requiring Chronic DialysisThe purpose of this study is to describe brain´s morphological changes induced by chronic kidney disease (CKD) in advanced stages (stages 4 and 5 defined by KDOQI guidelines) and also by haemodialysis using MRI. Based on the hypothesis that hypotension may cause damage in some organs including brain the investigators study if intradialytic hypotension (IDH) causes any type of changes in gray and white matter of the brain.
Causes Of End Stage Renal Disease In Patients Undergoing Regular Hemodialysis
End Stage Renal Disease PatientsCKD is defined as kidney damage for ≥3 months, as defined by structural and or functional abnormalities of the kidney, with or without decreased GFR or GFR <60 mL/min/1.73m2 for ≥3 months, with or without kidney damage. CKD is classified based on cause, GFR category, and albuminuria category (CGA). ESRD has become a public health problem worldwide, with recent reports showing that the total number of ESRD patients has been growing dramatically.
Physical Activity Level in Patients With Chronic Kidney Disease During COVID-19 Pandemic
Covid19Chronic Kidney DiseasesIn the literature, there are no studies evaluating fear of COVID-19, anxiety, depression, physical activity, fear of movement and quality of life in patients with chronic kidney disease during COVID-19 pandemic. The investigators will evaluate these parameters in patients with chronic kidney disease and compare the findings of healthy individuals during COVID-19 pandemic
Study of the IgA Repertoire During IgA Deposition Nephropathy.
GlomerulonephritisIGAIgA plays a major role in mucosal and systemic immunity but retains mysterious and ambivalent aspects. They can thus, depending on the situation, prove to be capable of triggering either a protective inflammatory response or, on the contrary, anti-inflammatory and inducing tolerance. Similarly, and for reasons that remain very poorly understood, they can be involved in pathologies where the immune system is itself an aggressor of the body and responsible for immunopathological lesions. The investigator formulates the hypothesis that an inappropriate response of the mucosal immune system to one or more antigens leads to a synthesis of IgA of bad affinity favoring a deposit at the level of the mesangium. It seems important to verify this point by analyzing the IgA repertory of patients with N-IgA and comparing it to that of a control population.
A Research Proposal to Set up an Integrated National Data Bank and Monitoring System and to Establish...
Chronic Kidney DiseaseThis project expects the integrated database of terminally renal ill patients combines clinical and files of Health Insurance and renal medical society database. It will provide valuable actual evidence data to quality monitoring of dialysis treatment and related academic research. Besides, using the cohort study of chronic renal disease --「epidemiologic research of chronic renal disease」, we can trace the patient continually and analysis different risk factors of chronic renal disease in Taiwan. Taken together, the results of this project --1.1「Integrate the current database of renal disease and establishment of national monitor system」and 1.2「Epidemiologic study in chronic renal disease」-- will provide the basic rules of prevention and treatment, basic research and clinic application in chronic renal disease.
Pulmonary Hypertension Prevention in Hemodialysis
Chronic Kidney DiseasePulmonary hypertension is a new complication described in hemodialysis patients. in the last year these patients were treated by calcium carbonate orally to control serum phosphor. Calcium phosphor deposits in pulmonary artery can explain this phenomena. The investigators want to investigate the new phosphor non calcium containing agents in hemodialysis patients and to measure the pulmonary pressure.
The Role of FGF23 and Asymmetric Dimethylarginine (ADMA) in Chronic Kidney Disease
Metabolic DiseasesChronic Kidney DiseaseIn chronic kidney disease calcium (Ca) and phosphate (P) metabolism disorders are very common and also they are one of the leading causes of morbidity in these population. FGF23 is a novel factor that contributes Ca-P disorders. It has been hypothesized that FGF 23 increase is mediated by asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA). The aim of the study is to evaluate this hypothesis.
Investigation of Platelet Function and Aspirin Resistance in Chronic Dialysis Patient
End Stage Renal DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to determine whether aspirin resistance has impact on cardiovascular event in dialysis patient.
