MIDCAB Versus DES in Proximal LAD Lesions

Coronary Artery Disease

Percutaneous coronary intervention with a sirolimus-coated stent compared to minimally invasive bypass surgery in patients with isolated proximal left anterior descending coronary arteries in terms of non-inferiority of an end point combining mortality, acute myocardial infarction and rate of reintervention of the target vessel within one year.

ACT34-CMI -- Adult Autologous CD34+ Cells

Myocardial Ischemia

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of intramyocardial injections of CLBS14 in patients with refractory chronic myocardial ischemia.

A Randomized, Double-blind Study to Assess Paclitaxel-eluting Stents in Treatment of Longer Lesions...

Coronary Artery Disease

The clinical investigation is an international, prospective, multi-center, double-blind, randomized safety and efficacy trial. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the TAXUS(TM)Stent System with 1µg/mm2 (loaded drug/stent surface area) of paclitaxel incorporated into a moderate rate-release formulation of triblock copolymer carrier system in patients with a higher risk of target lesion revascularisation and restenosis.

Study to Evaluate the Long-Term Safety and Efficacy of ABT-335, in Combination With Three Different...

DyslipidemiaCoronary Heart Disease1 more

The primary purpose of this study is to test the safety and the effects of using an investigational drug regimen; once daily ABT-335 (Investigational drug) administered in combination with once daily atorvastatin calcium, rosuvastatin calcium or simvastatin in patients with abnormal lipid levels in the blood.

Isoflavones and the Coronary Circulation in Men and Women With Coronary Artery Disease

Coronary Artery Disease

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of genistein administration on coronary arteries in humans. We will measure the size of a coronary artery and the speed and amount of blood flow in response after subjects have ingested Supro® drinks (a soy protein drink containing genistein).

TAXUS IV-SR: Treatment of De Novo Coronary Disease Using a Single Paclitaxel-Eluting Stent

Coronary Artery Disease

The ultimate goal of a paclitaxel eluting stent system (TAXUS stent) is to prevent restenosis by blunting the initial response to stent implant injury and sustaining the arrested response until vascular healing has taken place. The purpose of the TAXUS IV-SR trial is to study the safety and efficacy of the TAXUS Stent under controlled trial circumstances used in the treatment of new coronary artery lesions (heart blockages) This clinical investigation will evaluate the safety and effectiveness of the TAXUS Stent with 1 ug/mm2 (loaded drug/stent surface area) of paclitaxel incorporated into a slow rate-release formulation of a triblock copolymer carrier system for treatment of new coronary artery lesions.

Cardiovascular Outcomes Of Diet Counseling

Coronary Artery DiseaseObesity

(1) What effect does behavioral counseling for vegan, for low to moderate fat, and for lowered carbohydrate diets have on coronary blood flow? (2) What are the effects of different diet protocols when caloric intake and exercise are equalized? (3) Do people, so counseled, maintain their modified behaviors after they have completed their diet program? (4) How does targeting different diets affect secondary indices associated with heart disease such as weight, lipid, inflammatory, and thrombotic factors?

A Study of the TAXUS Liberté Stent for the Treatment of Long De Novo Coronary Artery Lesions

Coronary Artery Disease

TAXUS ATLAS is a global, multi-center, single-arm, non-inferiority trial comparing results from patients treated with the TAXUS Liberté 38 mm stent to an historical TAXUS Express control. The control group is a case-matched, blended, long lesion subset population of TAXUS Express patients from the TAXUS IV and TAXUS V de novo clinical trials. The objective of the study is to evaluate clinical outcomes of TAXUS Liberté-SR 38 mm stent in de novo lesions and to assess the non-inferiority of TAXUS Liberté versus TAXUS Express. The TAXUS Liberté-SR stent is hypothesized to have comparable safety and efficacy to the TAXUS Express stent.

Safety and Effectiveness of Visipaque 320mg-I/ml for Use in Contrast-Enhanced CT Angiography of...

Coronary Artery Disease

CT (computed tomography) angiography (CTA) is an examination similar to a CAT scan that uses x-rays and a contrast medium (also called dye) to visualize blood flow in arteries and veins throughout the body VISIPAQUE™ will be given through a vein in the arm before having the CTA scan of the heart arteries. The pictures it produces of the heart and its blood vessels will be reviewed and compared to those obtained during the catheter-based coronary angiography to see if the CTA shows the same blockages.

Safety and Effectiveness Study of the Ensure Medical Vascular Closure Device

AngioplastyTransluminal3 more

The purpose of this study is to determine whether the Ensure Medical Vascular Closure Device is more effective than standard manual compression at sealing the puncture made in the femoral artery following a cardiac or peripheral diagnostic or interventional procedure while maintaining the same level of safety.
