Antidepressant Effect of Deep Brain Stimulation in Parkinson's Disease Patients
Parkinson's DiseaseMajor Depressive DisorderThe purpose of this study is: To determine, in the context of a prospective clinical trial, whether stimulation parameters in PD patients treated with DBS, are associated with antidepressant effects. To determine whether these antidepressant effects are related to or independent of changes in the motor features of PD. To establish a computerized database that includes stimulation parameters and clinical parameters in PD patients treated with DBS. To develop a computer-assisted decision making protocol for programming of DBS parameters in both depressed and non-depressed PD patients.
Safety and Tolerability Study Evaluating ACR325 in Parkinson's Disease Patients
Parkinson's DiseaseTolerabilityThe study will evaluate the safety and tolerability of ACR325 in Parkinson disease patients and evaluate the effect on levodopa induced dyskinesias.
Safety, Tolerability and Efficacy Assessment of Dynacirc CR in Parkinson Disease
Parkinson DiseaseThe primary purpose of this study is to establish a dosage of isradipine CR that is tolerable and demonstrates preliminary efficacy for utilization in future pivotal efficacy studies.
Rasagiline as Add on to Dopamine Agonists in the Treatment of Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's DiseaseTo assess the efficacy of rasagiline 1 mg as a first add-on treatment to dopamine agonist therapy in early Parkinson Disease (PD) patients, , not optimally controlled on dopamine agonists as compared to placebo.
Strength Training and Medication Effects in Parkinson Disease Effects on Hypokinesia in Parkinson...
Parkinson DiseaseParkinson disease is a degenerative neurologic condition characterized by slowness of movement, tremor, and loss of balance control. It results in significant degrees of disability for affected individuals. Exercise and medication management are two treatments frequently used to treat Parkinson disease, and although some individuals benefit from these treatments, by what effect exercise works is presently not known. We will examine muscle structure and movement control responses to strengthening exercises and compare them to the therapeutic response observed as a result of medication intake. This process will allow us to better understand the mechanisms underlying the therapeutic effects of strengthening exercise for persons with Parkinson disease.
Evaluation of [123I]CLINDE and SPECT as a Marker of Inflammation in Subjects With PD or AD and in...
Parkinson DiseaseAlzheimer Disease2 moreTo assess the dynamic uptake and washout of 123-I CLINDE, a potential imaging biomarker for inflammatory changes in brain, using single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) in similarly aged healthy controls and subjects with Alzheimer (AD) or Parkinson disease (PD). To perform blood metabolite characterization of 123-I CLINDE in healthy and subjects with AD or PD to determine the nature of metabolites in assessment of 123-I CLINDE as a single photon computed tomography (SPECT) brain imaging agent. Evaluate the test/retest reproducibility of 123-I CLINDE, and SPECT in AD and PD subjects and healthy controls
Study to Evaluate SYN115 in Parkinson's Disease
Parkinson's DiseaseThis is an exploratory study to evaluate if SYN115 has an effect on Parkinson's disease as measured by clinical symptoms and brain images using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) when a function test is administered.
The Effects of Aplindore on the Treatment of Signs and Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease
Early Stage Parkinson's DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to demonstrate the safety, tolerability, efficacy and pharmacokinetics of aplindore in patients with early stage Parkinson's Disease (PD) who are not currently taking any dopamine agonists or who are able to wash off dopamine agonists for 14 days prior to baseline. Efficacy will be assessed using the UPDRS questionnaire including part 3 of the UPDRS (Motor). their level of sleepiness on a standardized rating scale (Epworth Sleepiness Scale) and their level of nausea daily. Safety endpoints will include adverse events (AEs), clinical laboratory data, vital signs (blood pressure, orthostatic blood pressure and heart rate), ECGs, physical examinations and self rated scales.

Parkinson's DiseaseThe purpose of this study is to obtain preliminary information on the effect of piclozotan on motor complications associated with Parkinson's Disease.
A Safety and Tolerability Study of Intracerebroventricular Administration of sNN0031 to Patients...
Parkinson's DiseaseThis study is conducted to evaluate the safety and tolerability of the drug product sNN0031, containing Platelet Derived Growth Factor (PDGF), when administered directly into one of the fluid filled cavities in the brain using an implanted catheter and an implanted SynchroMed® II pump. Patients with a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease will be enrolled.
