Safety and Exploratory Efficacy of HSC835 in Patients With Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD)
Inherited Metabolic Disorders IMDThis study is designed to assess the safety and exploratory efficacy of using HSC835 in patients with Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD) undergoing stem cell transplantation.
Efficacy and Safety of Stannsoporfin in Neonates
Nutritional and Metabolic DiseasesThis is a multi-center, randomized, sham injection-controlled (placebo) masked trial of a single intramuscular injection of Stannsoporfin compared to "sham" (placebo) in healthy term and near-term newborns admitted to the well-baby nursery and enrolled with "intention to treat".
Barley Bread and Metabolic Disease
Metabolic SyndromeThe aim of this study was to compare the metabolic effects of consuming whole barley bread and whole wheat bread, in healthy subjects. Also, to investigate the effect of whole grain flour on mineral status.
Neutralizing Antibody Seroprevalence Study With a Retrospective Component in Participants With Late-Onset...
Pompe DiseasePompe Disease (Late-onset)4 moreThe purpose of this study is to obtain information pertaining to the occurrence of antibodies to investigational SPK-3006 capsid and GAA, GAA activity and GAA antigen levels in the usual care setting of Late-Onset Pompe Disease (LOPD) participants on an enzyme replacement regimen. Additionally, a careful evaluation of laboratory and functional testing in patients with LOPD may provide information to better understand the disease features and better drive the design of a future interventional investigational gene therapy trial. An understanding of the underlying status of liver and muscle health in individuals with LOPD may also inform best surveillance during the conduct of gene therapy trials.

Pilot Test of a Healthy Metabolic Behaviour Tool
Metabolic DiseaseObese1 moreThis study aims to validate and pilot test the short-term intervention effect of a newly developed healthy metabolic behaviour tool, named as the 6P tool, on dietary attitude/ practice and body weight changes over one month among overweight and obese women. A total of 50 women, aged 21-40 years, BMI ≥25 kg/m2, who are attending the preconception clinic and planning for a pregnancy over the next one year, will be invited to participate in this pilot study. The recruitment period is estimated to take up to 10 weeks, with subsequent 1 month follow-up visit.

Targeting the Gut Microbiome to Investigate the Pathways of Progression From Obesity to Metabolic...
ObesityInsulin ResistanceStudies of the human gut microbiome have suggested that treatment or prevention aimed at the obese microbiome could influence the development of obesity-associated metabolic disturbances. The objective of this project is to explore if a dietary intervention in 60 obese women with the probiotic Lactobacillus paracasei ssp paracasei F19 or flax seed fibres targeting the gut microbiome, can reduce insulin resistance, low-grade inflammation or dyslipidaemia, and to explore the interaction between the human genome and the gut microbiome. The study is based on the following hypotheses: Treatment with the probiotic Lactobacillus paracasei ssp paracasei F19 and flax seed fibres will lower the metabolic risk profile in the intervention groups compared with placebo. The effect on the metabolic risk markers can be correlated with changes in the gut microbiota (measured in faeces). After completion of the dietary intervention, the participants are offered a 10-week weight reduction program. Those who participate in the weight-loss program are invited to an optional follow-up visit in connection with the last visit at the clinical dietician, for the purpose of exploring the effect of weight loss on the gut microbiota and obesity-associated metabolic disturbances.
