Osteopathic Manipulative Techniques for the Treatment of Chronic Migraine Headaches
Chronic MigraineHeadacheThis study evaluates a standardized osteopathic manipulative therapy (OMT) as a treatment for chronic migraine headaches. It will determine the feasibility of enrolling patients in standardized osteopathic manipulative therapy trials, the acceptability of this specific treatment to patients, and evaluate its preliminary effectiveness.
Efficacy of a Novel App-based Migraine Treatment Platform - a Pilot Study
Migraine DisordersThis study evaluates biofeedback delivered through a smartphone as a treatment for migraine in adolescents. Three out of four participants will receive treatment as smartphone delivered biofeedback training, and one out of four participants will receive treatment as a sham-biofeedback app.
Transnasal Cooling for Migraine
MigraineEpisodic Migraine2 moreThis is a prospective, double-blind, sham-controlled, randomized study to assess the safety, tolerability, and optimal dose of the COOLSTAT Transnasal Thermal Regulating Device for acute treatment of migraine. The hypothesis is that evaporative cooling induced by the CoolStat using only ambient, dry air will reduce the pain and other symptoms of migraine headaches during an acute migraine episode.
Real World Effectiveness of Eptinezumab in Participants With Migraine
MigraineThe purpose of this study is to examine how eptinezumab compares to other advanced preventive medications in a real-world community setting in adult participants with episodic migraine (EM) or chronic migraine (CM). These objectives include exploring the comparative effectiveness on patient reported outcomes.
Timolol Eye Drops in the Treatment of Acute Migraine Headache
MigraineThe goal of this study is to determine whether timolol eye drops are effective in alleviating acute migraine headaches. Subjects will be randomized to receive either timolol eye drops or placebo (tears) to use as a migraine abortive medication.
Intranasal Cooling for Symptomatic Relief of Migraine
Migraine HeadacheThis study will be a randomised placebo controlled trial examining the effectiveness of using an intranasal cooling device (the RhinoChill) in providing relief of pain and symptoms of acute migraine. It will involve using two nasal catheters to cool the nasal cavity which provides localised cooling of the local nasal tissue and the blood vessels which supply blood to the brain. This cooling effect will cause the blood vessels to constrict as well as stimulating special cold receptors that are thought to be involved in the relief of migraine, thereby providing both pain and associated symptomatic relief. Ninety patients will be randomised in a 1:1 fashion, clustered to three different recruitment sites. The patients will have a 30 day period of data collection for their current migraine frequency, treatment and response to medication (with a minimum of 2 migraine attacks recorded) before starting the treatment phase with the RhinoChill Device. Treatment will be for 2 migraine attacks. Only a single treatment is allowed for the first attack, but on the second attack the patient may deliver 2 treatments with a gap of at least 2 hours between treatments.
Prochlorperazine Versus Acetaminophen, Aspirin, and Caffeine for the Treatment of Acute Migraine...
Migraine HeadachesThe objective of this randomized, double blind study is to demonstrate that one dose oral "excedrin migraine" (acetaminophen, aspirin and caffeine) is not inferior when compared to one dose of intravenous prochlorperazine for the treatment of acute migraine headaches in the emergency department.
PBASE-system Acute Migraine Clinical Investigation
Acute MigraineTo evaluate the performance and safety of the PBASE-system when used in the treatment of acute migraine episodes of moderate to severe intensity. The study will evaluate the effect of treatment on migraine pain and symptoms during an acute attack and also any long-term effect.
Investigation of Efficacy and Outcome of a New Medical Device for Treatment of Migraine
MigraineThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of a novel therapy for treatment of migraine, pain reduction and relief of associated symptoms during ongoing migraine attacks, and presence of a preventive effect two months post treatment. Another purpose is to investigate if and how this treatment affects manifestations of the autonomic nervous system activity.
Chordate System S020 Acute Migraine Clinical Investigation
Acute MigraineThe main purpose of the study is to evaluate the impact of treatment with the Chordate System S020 (medical device) on acute migraine headache pain.
