Telcagepant for Prevention of Menstrually Related Migraine in Female Participants With Episodic...
MigraineThis is a multicenter study to test the hypothesis that telcagepant is superior to placebo in preventing perimenstrual migraines as measured by mean monthly headaches during the entire treatment period. This study will also evaluate the safety and tolerability of telcagepant for female migraine participants.
Multiparametric MRI Study of Endogenous Analgesia and Prediction the Efficacy of Migraine Pharmacological...
MigraineTo delineate brain mechanisms that subserve EA in the healthy state and to identify alterations in mechanisms supporting EA in chronic pain and their therapeutic relevance. Individuals with migraine will be examined between episodes in order to assess basal alterations in the efficiency of spatial and temporal filtering of noxious information. This population provides the unique opportunity to examine such processes without confounds arising from ongoing pain.
Double-blind Randomized Clinical Trial of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Chronic Migraine...
Chronic MigraineThe purpose of this study is to determine whether active repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex is safe and effective for preventive treatment of chronic migraine, compared to placebo repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation.
Safety & Efficacy of a Single Dose of Sumatriptan Powder Delivered Intranasally With the Bi-directional...
Migraine HeadacheThe study is being conducted to determine if OPTINOSE SUMATRIPTAN delivered nasally (through the nose) using the OPTINOSE SUMATRIPTAN Device can reduce the pain and symptoms associated with migraine headaches.
Study to Evaluate the PK of BMS-927711 in Patient With Migraine During Acute Migraine and Non-migraine...
MigraineThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the pharmacokinetics (PK) of BMS-927711 during migraine and non-migraine condition.
Migraine Treatment Satisfaction With Treximet Versus Concomitant 2 Aleve and Imitrex
MigraineThis is an open label, 6 month cross over study in 50 migraine patients fulfilling International Headache Society Classification criteria for migraine headache with and without aura having 2-6 migraines per month and not over 14 days a month of headaches in the previous 3 months. Baseline Headache Impact Test -6 (HIT-6) will be obtained and 25 patients will administer Treximet as needed for 3 months and then 2 Aleve and 100mg Imitrex taken concomitantly as needed for 3 months. The other 25 patients will administer 2 Aleve and 100mg Imitrex taken concomitantly as needed for 3 months and then Treximet as needed for 3 months. In addition to Revised Patient Perception of Migraine Questionnaire (PPMQ-R)data, a detailed diary will be recorded regarding number of tablets taken per attack, compliance, rescue treatment, when patients treated their migraine attack (mild, moderate, or severe), onset of pain reduction (pain relief and pain free, and 24 hour pain relief and sustained pain free response.
Integrating Acupuncture Into the Management of Migraines
Migraine HeadacheThis research is being done to study the effect of incorporating acupuncture into the management of migraines. The primary aim is to determine in a randomized, controlled study whether individuals experiencing migraines have fewer occurrences and less intense migraines when acupuncture is integrated with nonprescription pharmacological treatment. Nonprescription pharmacological treatment in this study refers to the use of the following over the counter medications: Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Acetaminophen (with or without caffeine). Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen are members of a class of drugs known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs.
An Investigation of the Safety and Utility of Treximet in the Treatment of Menstrual Migraine
Menstrual MigraineThe study is to primarily investigate whether Treximet® (Imitrex RT/naproxen sodium 500mg) taken at the first onset of menstrual migraine will both terminate the acute headache and assist in preventing headache recurrence and the need for repeat abortive therapy over the ensuing days of menses.
Anesthetic Blockades and Migraine
Chronic MigrainePainGreater occipital nerve (GON) anesthetic blockades are widely used for the treatment of headaches, yet its efficacy in migraine has hardly been assessed with controlled studies. The aim of this study is to evaluate the short-term clinical efficacy of GON anaesthetic blockades in chronic migraine and to analyze their effect on pressure pain thresholds (PPTs) in different areas. We hypothesize that those patients receiving real GON anesthetic blockade will receive greater improvements in pain nociception. We will conduct a double-blind, randomized, parallel and placebo-controlled clinical trial where one group will be treated with bilateral GON blockade with bupivacaine 0,5% and the other group will be treated with placebo.
Acetylsalicylic Acid (ASA) + Paracetamol + Caffeine Combination Compared With ASA + Paracetamol...
Migraine DisordersTo confirm the combination rationale for the combination of ASA + paracetamol + caffeine compared with the combination of ASA + paracetamol and the individual substances ASA, paracetamol, caffeine, and placebo administered orally to headache patients for two headache episodes
