Chronic Cerebral IschemiaAn open-label, prospective, observational, multicenter study. The study enrolls adult outpatients with CCI from 8 federal districts of the Russian Federation.
Risk Communication About Post-operative Delirium (POD) and Post-operative Cognitive Dysfunction...
Post-operative DeliriumPost-operative Cognitive DysfunctionThe purpose of this study is to assess the awareness of post-operative delirium (POD) and post-operative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), their respective risk factors and effective preparation and treatment options in a pre-clinical sample of patients attending a premedication outpatient clinic (Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, Campus Virchow-Klinikum, Berlin, Germany) prior to elective surgery. The investigators hypothesize that the awareness for POD/POCD as potential risk in consequence of the surgery is very low in patients, and that therefore easy to use measure for prevention are underutilized by patients.
Oxidation-reduction Homeostasis in Cognitive Impairment Patients After Stroke
Oxidative-reduction HomeostasisPost-stroke Cognitive ImpairmentCognitive impairment after ischemic stroke can affect not only the social adaptation ability, but also affect the comprehensive rehabilitation of patients. The damage of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke is not lower than the body function defect after stroke. Many studies have shown that oxidative stress is one of the pathophysiological mechanisms of ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Many studies have reported that the oxidative-reduction of cells plays an important role in the life activities of organisms, affecting the health, aging and death of the organism. In the recent years, some scholars have suggested that post-stroke cognitive impairment may be related to oxidative-reduction homeostasis of the body, but the relevant evidence is lacking and needs to be further explored. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to explore the effect of oxidation-reduction homeostasis on cognitive impairment in patients with ischemic stroke, and provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of cognitive impairment after ischemic stroke.
Impact of Covid-19 on Frequent Social Interaction Through Communication Technologies in the Cognitive...
Memory DisordersAlzheimer Disease1 moreThe current study will examine the impact of frequent social interaction through communication technologies during COVID-19 pandemic in the cognitive status of socially-isolated older adults with and without cognitive impairment. Patients will take place in an experimental crossover study, participants will complete one month of an intervention and one month of as passive control. The goal of this study is to determine: A.) if frequent social interaction through ICT during COVID-19 pandemic will have a significant positive impact in cognitive performance on testing, and B.) how social isolation and cognitive status influence misconceptions around the current pandemic.
Detection of Visual-Auditory Reaction Rates in Individuals With Type 2 Diabetes
Diabetes MellitusType 22 moreBackground: The primary purpose of our study was to understand the damage in the peripheral nerves of patients with diabetes and to determine the change in patients' reaction rates and perceptions by the age groups, duration of diabetes, fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c values, and compare these with those of the healthy individuals. Methods: This study was carried out at the Baskent University Hospital Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases Outpatient Clinic. A total of 64 patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and 64 healthy controls were included in the study. Finger tapping, visual, and auditory reaction time tests were performed on the subjects, respectively. The subjects' fasting plasma glucose and HbA1c levels, and the duration of their diabetes were recorded. Analyses were performed using the SPSS version 25. Differences were considered statistically significant when the p-value is <0.05.
Effects of Multimodal Training of Combined Cognitive and/or Physical Training on Cognition and Fitness...
Cognitive DeclineCognitive Impairment1 moreThe elderly population worldwide is expected to increase exponentially. There will be a higher percentage of older adults suffering cognitive decline in the coming decades. Cognitive impairment, being the most common health problem associated with ageing, contributes to possible loss of functional independence and disability. The purpose of this study is to determine the effectiveness of four mixed modalities of three training programs (combined cognitive and physical training [CCPT], cognitive or physical training only) on cognition and fitness of community-dwelling older adults in Hong Kong. The study hypotheses will be set as the integrated format of all three training will have higher cognition and fitness scores than other combinations of two training modes and all these mixed modalities will have greater positive outcomes than the active control subjects.
Validation of New Tools for the Assessment of Cognitive Functions and Connectivity Network in Hypertensive...
HypertensionCognitive ImpairmentThe relationship among hypertension, aging and cognitive decline is complex and not completely understood. Purpose of this project will be evaluating early markers of cognitive deterioration in patients with arterial hypertension. In particular, this cross-sectional observational study will be articulated in three phases: Neuropsychological evaluation of general cognitive abilities Identification and measurement of specific biomarker levels Correlation among hypertension, cognitive abilities and biomarkers.
Effects of Exercise Training in Patients With Mild Cognitive Impairment
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentAlzheimer's DiseaseThe proposes of this study are To understand the physical activities of patients with cognitive impairment in Taiwan and construct the validity and reliability of the physical activity questionnaire and actigram in this population. To understand the relation between brain structure (brain tractography and resting state functional MRI) and cognitive and physical functions of patients with cognitive impairment, the capability of activity and social engagement (including quality of life). To understand the efficacy of exercise on the brain structure (brain tractography and resting state functional MRI), cognitive and physical functions, the capability of activity and social engagement (including quality of life) of the patients with cognitive impairment. The study aims to establish the data base of physical activity of patients with cognitive impairment in Taiwan. We will also analyze the efficacy of exercise with ICF model on physical function, physical activity and social engagements to provide an optimized design of exercise program for patients with cognitive impairment in the future.
Effect of Cerefolin®/CerefolinNAC® on Biomarker Measurements
Mild Cognitive ImpairmentAlzheimer's Disease1 moreIn a retrospective analysis of data from 1100 patients, disease-delaying effects of Cerefolin®/CerefolinNAC® were examined in terms of cognition. The purpose of the current study is to expand the retrospective study dataset by prospectively collecting additional biomarker and imaging data.
The Difference in Cerebral Oxygenation Between Propofol and Sevoflurane
Cerebral HypoxiaPostoperative Cognitive Dysfunctionthe purpose of this study is to investigate whether propofol and sevoflurane have difference effect on cerebral oxygenation .
