Multiple SclerosisRelapsing-Remitting1 morePersonal identity is composed of multiple facets of the self that are constructed and nourished through memories of past experiences (i.e., autobiographical memory) and the imagination of events that may occur in the future (i.e., future thinking) . While our previous work has shown that people with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (pwRRMS) have autobiographical memory and future thought disorders, their impact on personal identity has not yet been explored. Based on a cognitive and clinical neuropsychology approach, this research project aims to better understand the cognitive mechanisms involved in the relationship between identity, autobiographical memory and future thinking in pwRRMS. We will examine the extent to which pwRRMS manage to maintain and reshape their identity through life experiences, with a particular interest in the potential integration of the disease as a facet of their identity. In addition, we will explore the positive and/or negative consequences of disease-related identity changes on emotional well-being and quality of life, as well as their links with the duration and severity of the disease. Overall, this research project will contribute to identify new therapeutic levers that can be used for the development of adapted and personalized care.
A Study for Tysabri Participant Preference
Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis (RRMS)The primary objective of this study is to collect, evaluate and compare data on participant preference between subcutaneous (SC) and intravenous (IV) natalizumab. The secondary objectives of this study are to evaluate the immunogenicity of SC natalizumab for natalizumab-naïve participants and collect and evaluate data on the multiple sclerosis (MS) disease-relevant parameters (relapse rate, time to first relapse, disability improvement and progression) over 12 months, in participants with natalizumab therapy starting on SC natalizumab or switching from IV natalizumab.

Multiple SclerosisSeveral prospective monocentric cohorts of between 250 and 1000 patients have been set up in order to characterize more precisely the evolution of the disease. Nevertheless, due to an initial recruitment carried out in the years 2000-2010, they do not constitute a faithful representation of the patients followed in clinical routine, in particular in terms of distribution of treatments. Indeed, the introduction, about 10 years ago, of high efficacy treatments (HET) has changed the management of the disease and a significant proportion of patients not controlled by medium efficacy treatments (MET) of the disease are now stable on HET. Nevertheless, if their short-term efficacy has been clearly demonstrated, it remains important to be able to confirm the superiority of HET over MET with the help of prospective cohorts (thus ensuring a retention of patients > 90% over the long term) analyzing all clinical and imaging biomarkers, imaging and biological data. The measurement of cerebral atrophy and its progression is probably one of the most interesting and most easily used biomarkers that can be used clinically to assess this silent progression in these groups of patients. The progression of brain atrophy is also dependent on many other non-modifiable but also modifiable factors outside of MS that need to be better evaluated and eventually managed. Nevertheless, the existence of various neurological comorbidities (sleep disorders, headaches) on this atrophy has not been specifically analyzed to date. The functional assessments used in routine follow-up are most often performed in a care facility and have many limitations: lack of reproducibility, inter/intra operator variability, poor correlation with functional and quality of life scales, etc. It is therefore extremely important to be able to identify new clinical biomarkers of disease progression of the disease by evaluating the physical capacities of the patients as precisely as possible. This study is a single-center, prospective cohort study of a population of 400 patients with relapsing remitting MS (RRMS). The main objective of this study is to compare, on morphological imaging criteria (T1 volumetry), the progression of brain atrophy (biomarker of disease progression) at 3 years in RRMS patients according to treatment line (MET vs HET).
In-phase Bilateral Exercises in People With Relapsing Remitting Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple SclerosisRelapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) is associated with changes of the corticospinal tract integrity, which is quantified by means of corticospinal plasticity. Several factors, such as exercise and interlimb coordination can influence such corticospinal plasticity. Previous work in healthy and in stroke participants showed that the greatest improvement of corticospinal plasticity occurred during in-phase bilateral arm exercises. Here, the investigators propose a concurrent multiple baseline design study which has the advantage to verify the cause-effect inference by the staggered duration through separate baseline phases. The proposed study includes five people with RRMS, who will follow an intervention protocol which includes in-phase bilateral movements of the upper limbs, adapted to different sports activities and to functional training. The aim of the study is to investigate the effects of in-phase bilateral exercises on corticospinal plasticity and on clinical measures, using transcranial magnetic stimulation and standardized clinical assessment. To meet quality standards, the present study has been designed and will be conducted according to the "What Works Clearinghouse" criteria for single case studies.
