Comparative Evaluation of Continuous and Pulse Mode of Ultrasound Therapy in Myalgia of Maxillofacial...

MyalgiaTrigger Point

Pain and trismus caused by Myalgia in masticatory muscles are one of the prime concerns for the patients. Various studies have been performed using US therapy for myofascial pain syndrome of head & neck region. US is a non-invasive frequently used physical agent which increase blood flow in tissues and collagen fibers ability to grow, & reduce muscle spasm with its thermal effect. It is difficult to imply the results of studies performed in muscles of other regions of body to the maxillofacial region because of the superficial placement of these muscles.US is being frequently used for myofascial pain, but there is an absence of a consensus regarding the frequency and mode of administration available in literature for administration of this therapy in maxillofacial region. Therefore, the present study has been designed to compare the therapeutic effect of two modes of US i.e., continuous and pulsed at 3 MHz frequency

An Effectiveness and Safety Study of Cyclobenzaprine HCl Alone or in Combination With Ibuprofen...

PainSpasm

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of cyclobenzaprine HCl 5 mg (muscle spasm medication) taken three times a day, alone or in combination with ibuprofen 400 mg or 800 mg (pain relief medication) taken three times a day, for the treatment of back or neck muscle pain with muscle spasm.

Dry Needling Versus Intramuscular Stimulation in the Management of the Myofascial Trigger Points...

Trigger Point PainMyofascial2 more

Hypothesis The application of intramuscular electrostimulation will be more effectiveness than the dry needling in myofascial trigger points treatment. Objetives: To determine the effectiveness of intramuscular electrostimulation in the treatment of trigger points of the levator scapula muscle for the improvement of pain in mechanical cervicalgia. Participants: Subjects with diagnosed of myofascial pain syndrome in cervical region and active trigger points in levator scapulae muscle, randomly assigned to experimental or control group. Intervention: Control group: one session of dry needling in active trigger points; experimental group: one session of intramuscular stimulation in active trigger points. Main Outcomes Measures: Pain, pressure pain threshold (PPT), active cervical range of motion and strength muscle . The measures will be taken before, after and one week after the interventions.

COMBOPROFEN for Treatment of Muscular Pain Associated With Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)...

Delayed Onset Muscle SorenessDOMS

The study is designed as a proof of concept, single-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled study to assess the safety and efficacy of Comboprofen (Ibuprofen + Magnesium + Vitamin C) compared to placebo, Ibuprofen, Magnesium and Vitamin C monotherapies in the treatment of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS).

The Effect of Pretreatment With Roc on Succinylcholine Myalgias

Myalgia

Succinylcholine is a medication (depolarizing muscle relaxant) that is used as part of an anesthetic (going to sleep for surgery). This medication can cause significant muscle soreness. Rocuronium is a medication (non-depolarizing muscle relaxant) that some anesthesia providers believe may reduce muscle soreness caused by succinylcholine if given prior, but this has been controversial. Some anesthesiologists pretreat patients with rocuronium before giving patients succinylcholine, and some do not. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of pretreatment with rocuronium on muscle soreness associated with succinylcholine administration.
