Effect Kinesio Taping on Acute-onset Muscle Soreness and Calf Muscle Extensibility Among Endurance...
Muscle SorenessIn recent years, athletes have frequently utilized Kinesio tape (KT) to enhance their performance. Despite widespread use, data regarding its efficacy and mechanism of action is lacking among healthy endurance athletes. This study aims to determine the effect of KT application on acute-onset muscle soreness and the extensibility of the calf muscles in endurance athletes.
Self-management and Home Exercises for the Treatment of Masticatory Muscle Pain. A Clinical Trial...
Myalgia of Mastication MuscleThe objective of this study was to compare the clinical effectiveness of self-management (SM) together with mandibular home exercises (EX) in the treatment of myalgia of the masticatory muscles. A controlled clinical trial was carried out with a total of 48 subjects diagnosed with myalgia according to the diagnostic criteria for temporomandibular disorders (DC/TMD), who were randomized into two groups: treated with SM (SM group) and treated with SM and mandibular home exercises (SM-EX group). The follow-ups were carried out at 2, 6 and 10 weeks, where the following were evaluated: pain in the masticatory muscles, range of mandibular movement and mandibular functional limitation.
Effect of Tissue Flossing on Recovery Time After Intense Physical Exercise Causing Delayed Onset...
Health BehaviorMuscle Strain1 moreThe aim of the study is to assess whether soft tissue flossing therapy will alleviate eccentric muscle-destroying influences. Men aged 20-25 will be tested. Suddenly taking up activity in untrained people and performing the fatigue protocol is a heavy burden for the body, and its effects may have a negative impact on the body. The assessment of the processes taking place in the body under the influence of this type of physical activity with the use of soft tissue flossing will broaden the scope of knowledge about this therapeutic method and will allow assessing whether it has an impact on accelerating regeneration after intense physical exertion.
Study of SST-0225 Topical Ibuprofen Cream in the Treatment of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)...
Delayed Onset Muscle SorenessDOMSThis is a Phase 3, prospective, randomized, dual-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study designed to determine the efficacy and safety of SST-0225 (5.4 grams, applied up to 6 times in 24 hours, over a 48-hour dosing period) for the treatment of pain associated with DOMS.
Real and Sham Diathermy vs Hand Massage in Lower Limbs Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)Effect...
Musculoskeletal PainDelayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS) can have an impact on the proprioception of knee joint . The study aim is to assess the effect of manual massage, diathermy and sham diathermy the proprioception of the knee joint in patients affected by DOMS.
Etodolac-lidocaine Patch in Subjects Experiencing Acute Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness
Acute Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS)This study evaluate the efficacy and safety of Etodolac-lidocaine topical patch applied one time daily when compared with placebo in the treatment of acute Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) of the upper limbs.
Effect of Muscle Pain in Late Cold Water Immersion, Muscular Recruitment, Postural Control Dynamic...
PainSleepObjective: To evaluate the effect of cold water immersion in elayed onset muscle soreness, muscle recruitment, dynamic postural control and quality of sleep in young soccer players. Methods: The sample will consist of 28 soccer players between 18 and 21 years of the same football club and with the same routine practices and games. At first athletes will respond to the IC and will be submitted to the test of a repetition maximum. After three days the athletes will analysis of muscle recruitment by electromyography and dynamic posture control through the force platform both during the time of shooting, moreover, will respond to scale the quality of sleep the previous night and one on pain, then they are instructed to perform a fatigue protocol for the quadriceps and then will be randomized to one of four intervention groups: cold water immersion, submersion in water at room temperature, or active recovery control. The same APPRAISAL be remade into three new moments, 24, 48 and 72 hours after the fatigue test. Hypothesis: The variables will be considered: Pain intensity in the quadriceps muscle, quality of sleep the night after intervention protocol, electromyographic analysis of the rectus femoris, vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis at the time of shooting, as well as postural control when the shot off. It is intended to establish the best way of recovery of late quadriceps muscle pain and contribute to the clinical practice of active recovery or rest in young soccer players.
Dosing Interval Study of SST-0225 Topical Ibuprofen Cream in the Treatment of Delayed Onset Muscle...
Delayed Onset Muscle SorenessThis is a Phase 2, prospective, randomized, dual-center, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group study designed to determine the dosing interval, efficacy and safety of SST-0225 (5.4 grams, applied up to 6 times in 24 hours, over a 48-hour dosing period) for the treatment of pain associated with DOMS.
Cyclophosphamide in Myalgic Encephalopathy/ Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS)
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME)Significant clinical improvements of ME/CFS symptoms were observed in two patients with long-standing ME/CFS who received adjuvant chemotherapy including cyclophosphamide for breast cancer, also in one ME/CFS patient who received chemotherapy including iphosphamide for Hodgkin lymphoma. Three pilot ME/CFS patients were thereafter treated with six intravenous infusions four weeks apart, in two of these with a significant clinical response. The hypothesis is that a subset of ME/CFS patients have an activated immune system, and that ME/CFS symptoms may be alleviated by treatment with cyclophosphamide as intravenous pulse infusions four weeks apart, six infusions in total. The purpose of the present study is to treat ME/CFS patients with cyclophosphamide as intravenous pulse infusions four weeks apart, six infusions in total. The effects on ME/CFS symptoms and tolerability/side effects during 12 months follow-up will be registered, and additional tests will be performed to objectively register changes in physical ability during follow-up. Studies to investigate possible large vessel endothelial dysfunction and skin microvascular dysfunction will be performed before start of intervention and during follow-up.
