Attentional Focus Influence During Cranio-Cervical Flexion Test
Neck; AnomalyMuscle Weakness1 moreThe purpose of this study is to termine if a different attentional focus would alter the motor control in cervical muscles during the cranio-cervical test.
Effect of Critical Patients Mobilization on Respiratory and Peripheral Muscle Strength and Functional...
Intensive Care Unit SyndromeMuscle WeaknessTo analyze changes on respiratory muscle strength, peripheral and functional capacity of critically ill patients with clinical and surgical etiology, breathing spontaneously and bedridden, within 48 hours of admission to the intensive care unit (ICU) and if there are correlations among these variables. This is an observational study. Respiratory muscle strength will be assessed through the maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP) and maximal expiratory pressure (MEP) and peripheral muscle strength, by the Medical Research Council score (MRC) and hand grip test and functional capacity through the Functional Independence Measure (FIM) and Physical Function ICU Test Score (PFIT-s) in the period between 24h and 48h of hospitalization in the adult ICU. For descriptive purposes, the sample will be stratified according to clinical and surgical characteristics. Correlations will be determined using the Pearson test, with significance level of p <0.05.

Muscle Weakness Duration After Single Botulinum Toxin Injection in Masseter
Bite ForceBotulinum Toxins1 moreThis study aimed to evaluate the duration of a reduced maximal voluntary bite force after a botulinum toxin intervention. Methods: In an intervention group, 25 units of Xeomin® (Merz Pharma GmbH & Co KGaA, Frankfurt am Main, Germany) botulinum neurotoxin type A were injected into the masseter muscles bilaterally (to a total of 50 units).
The Underlying Mechanism of Spinal Manipulative Therapy and the Effect of Pain on Physical Outcome...
Low Back PainDegeneration of Lumbosacral Intervertebral Disc2 moreThe purpose of this study is to compare changes in spinal stiffness and back muscle activity between spinal manipulative therapy (SMT) responders, non-responders and asymptomatic participants. Additionally, the investigators wanted to compare the amount of lumbar degeneration between SMT responders, non-responders and asymptomatic participants. This study also determines if the presence of pain modifies post-SMT spinal stiffness and back muscle activity.

Progressive Mobility Program and Technology to Improve the Level of Physical Activity and Functionality...
Critical IllnessMuscle WeaknessThe purpose of this study is to verify if a protocol of early and progressive mobility which includes the use of technology is able to increase the level of physical activity and improve functionality and respiratory and muscular function of Intensive Care Unit patients compared with conventional Physical Therapy.
Effect of Verbal Instruction on Pelvic Floor Muscle Contraction in Post Stroke Patients
Pelvic Floor Muscle WeaknessThe aim of this study is to investigate which verbal instruction will lead to the most efficient contraction of pelvic floor muscles in post stroke patients. Pelvic floor muscle contraction will be evaluated via transabdominal ultrasound. ultrasound.
