The Italian REgistry of Pulmonary Non-tuberculous mycobactEria
Nontuberculous MycobacteriaThe Italian registry of pulmonary non-tuberculous mycobacteria (NTM) -IRENE- is an observational, multicenter, prospective, cohort study enrolling consecutive adult patients with either a NTM respiratory infection or NTM-Pulmonary Disease. The coordinating center is located at the Pulmonary Department of the Fondazione IRCCS Ca' Granda, Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico, Milan, Italy. So far, more than 35 centers, including mainly pulmonary and infectious disease departments, joined the registry. The registry has been developed to accept an unlimited number of patients and no deadlines have been decided.
WGS of NTM From Sputum of NTM Lung Disease Patients and From Their Environments
Nontuberculous Mycobacterium InfectionWhole Genome SequencingThe purpose of the study is to identify the genetic closeness of NTM derived from patients living together and from their surrounding environment and to trace the temporal relationship between them.

To Set up NTM Stimulation Test Foar Diagnosing NTM Pulmonary Infectionon. To compare TLR-2 expression of peripheral blood mononuclear cells and serum downstream cytokines in those with MAC or MAB pulmonary infection and those with MAC or MAB pulmonary colonization and controls. To investigate the response of TLR-2 expression and cytokines activation to NTM stimulation test in patients with MAC or MAB pulmonary infection and colonization and controls. To validate the NTM stimulation test for NTM pulmonary infection.

To Investigate the Inflammasome Response of Inflammatory and Resting MacrophageTo Compare the Difference of Inflammasome Response of Inflammatory Macrophage1 moreTo investigate the inflammasome response of inflammatory and resting macrophage derived from healthy human participants by stimulation using MAC or MAB bacilli. To compare the difference of inflammasome response of inflammatory macrophage by MAC/MAB bacilli stimulation between MAC/MAB-LD patients and the colonizers. To study the diagnostic aid from immunological markers in inflammasome response in inflammatory macrophage stimulated by MAC/MAB.
Autoantibodies Against Specific Cytokines in Adults With Severe Mycobacterial Infection
Mycobacterium InfectionIn adult, the prevalence of mycobacterial infections is increased with age is largely unknown. IFN-gamma-IL-12/23 axis or NF-kappaB pathways might also plays crucial roles in adult against mycobacteria. Based on this hypothesis, the investigators had applied a functional assay to these pathways in patients with mycobacterial infection.
