The primary objective of this study is to assess the safety and efficacy of performing unrelated stem cell transplants using intravenous busulfan and fludarabine as preparative therapy and tacrolimus plus methotrexate as the GVHD prophylaxis regimen. The goal is to demonstrate safety, aiming for a transplant related mortality rate (TRM) of < or equal to 40% at 100 days. A TRM of > or equal to 60% will be considered unacceptable. Another goal is to demonstrate efficacy by showing and overall survival of >40% at 1-year following transplant.

Multiple Myeloma

The purpose of this Phase 1/2 study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of treatment with VELCADE, dexamethasone, and Revlimid® (VDR) as well as VELCADE, dexamethasone, cyclophosphamide, and Revlimid (VDCR) in patients with multiple myeloma who have received no prior treatment. This study will evaluate whether the addition of Revlimid to VELCADE and Dexamethasone will increase the complete response (CR)/ very good partial response (VGPR) rate.

Multiple Myeloma

Development of new treatments for diseases such as multiple myeloma is a focus for research. The research being conducted is on treatment called Anti-KIR (1-7F9), which activates the body's own cells to kill tumor cells. This is different from many other treatments where chemicals are given to kill tumor cells. The purpose of the study is to determine a safe dose of Anti-KIR (1-7F9) to administer in humans and to gain information about its effectiveness in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

This study evaluates the safety and efficacy of plerixafor given in addition to granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) for collection of peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs) for autologous transplantation in patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (NHL) and multiple myeloma (MM). Efficacy outcomes include evaluation of fold increase in circulating CD34+ cells from just before the first plerixafor injection to 10-11 hours post plerixafor (just before apheresis) and assessment of successful polymorphonuclear leukocyte (PMN) engraftment after transplantation. Data from this protocol will assist in the determination of the dosing schedule for future studies.
