CancerNausea1 moreThe purpose of the study is verify the capability of a standardized Ginger (Zingiber officinale) extract to manage nausea in cancer patients receiving highly emetogenic treatments and standard anti-emetogenic therapy.
Dose-ranging Study of Ramosetron for the Prevention of Nausea and Vomiting After Gynecologic Laparoscopic...
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingMany patients receiving opioid based analgesia after gynecologic laparoscopic surgery experience postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV) despite prophylaxis and treatment with HT3 receptor antagonists. Although a high dose of ramosetron can cause adverse effects such as headache or dizziness, the minimal effective dose of ramosetron in a high-risk patients is unknown. The aim of this study is to determine the effective dose of ramosetron for prophylaxis of PONV in a high-risk patients receiving intravenous opioid-based patient-controlled analgesia after gynecological laparoscopic surgery.
Alternative Approaches for Nausea Control
Nausea216 Chemotherapy-naïve, female breast cancer patients about to begin chemotherapy and who expect to have nausea, will be entered. Participants will be randomized to one of three study arms: Arm 1: control; Arm 2: Expectancy-neutral handout + Expectancy-neutral MP3+ acupressure bands; Arm 3: Expectancy-enhancing handout + Expectancy-enhancing MP3 + acupressure bands. Hypothesis: Acupressure bands provided with the relaxation MP3 will be effective in controlling chemotherapy-induced nausea
Phase II Study of SyB D-0701 for Radiotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (RINV)
Radiotherapy-induced Nausea and Vomiting (RINV)The purpose of this study is to explore the dose response of SyB D-0701 for preventing nausea and emesis associated with radiotherapy (fractionated/localized irradiation) in cancer patients scheduled to receive radiotherapy (fractionated/localized irradiation) alone.
Rolapitant as an Antiemetic in Malignant Glioma Patients Receiving Radiotherapy and Temozolomide...
Chemo-radiation Induced Nausea and VomitingThe purpose of this phase 2 study is to assess the efficacy and patient satisfaction of oral rolapitant plus ondansetron vs. oral ondansetron monotherapy in malignant glioma (MG) patients receiving standard of care radiation (RT) and temozolomide (TMZ) therapy. This is a randomized phase 2 trial of rolapitant plus ondansetron vs. ondansetron monotherapy for the prevention of chemo-radiation induced nausea and vomiting in primary MG subjects receiving RT and concomitant multi-dose TMZ.
The Effect of Acupressure Chemotherapy-related Nausea Vomiting in Children
Pediatric CancerNausea With Vomiting Chemotherapy-InducedThis study is carried out to evaluate and compare the efficiency of acupressure practice applied with pressure or sea-band and their placebo on managing the acute nausea-vomiting symptoms developing due to chemotherapy in pediatric oncology patients.
Effect of Propofol on Postoperative Nausea and Vomiting.
Postoperative Nausea and VomitingAs PONV is an unpleasant experience that badly affects the patients' quality of life after surgery and the anti-emetic effects of propofol have been seldomly studied in Pakistan, this study aims at investigation of the beneficial effects of propofol in reducing the occurrence of PONV.
Acupressure in Controlling Nausea in Young Patients Receiving Highly Emetogenic Chemotherapy
Central Nervous System TumorPediatric3 moreRATIONALE: Acupressure wristbands may prevent or reduce nausea and caused by chemotherapy. It is not yet known whether standard care is more effective with or without acupressure wristbands in controlling acute and delayed nausea. PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying how well acupressure wristbands work with or without standard care in controlling nausea in young patients receiving highly emetogenic chemotherapy.
A Dose-escalating Study to Evaluate the Immunogenicity and Safety of Rotavin-M1 Vaccine in Healthy...
DiarrheaFever3 moreThe purpose of this study is to evaluate the safety and immunogenicity of Rotavin-M1 produced by the Center for Research and Production of Vaccines and Biologicals (POLYVAC) in infants in Vietnam. In addition, we evaluate different dosages and schedules to determine the best regimen to test in a clinical trial.
Acupuncture and Nausea/Vomiting in Pediatric Patients
Postoperative Vomiting and NauseaThe purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of intraoperative P6 acupuncture plus standard therapy on postoperative nausea and vomiting in pediatric patients undergoing tonsillectomy with or without adenoidectomy. 200 children will be randomly assigned to either the treatment or the control group. Treatment Group: Standard anti-emetic therapy plus bilateral P6 acupuncture after the induction of anesthesia Control Group: Standard anti-emetic therapy only This study will monitor nausea, retching, and vomiting events both directly after the surgery as well as the next day via a follow-up phone call to the parents of the study participant.
