Chemotherapy-induced Nausea and VomitingIn this study, patients will receive ondansetron 8mg and dexamethasone 10mg intravenously 30 minutes prior to myeloablative preparative chemotherapy until the last day of chemotherapy. On the final day of chemotherapy, palonosetron 0.25mg and dexamethasone 10mg will be administered intravenously 30 minutes prior to the chemotherapy. If the chemotherapy regimen is only 1 day of the chemotherapy then only palonosetron and dexamethasone will be administered 30 minutes prior to chemotherapy. Dexamethasone 8mg once daily will be given orally for 2 days following chemotherapy.
Efficacy and Safety of Fosaprepitant Dimeglumine in Preventing Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting...
Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting (CINV)This study aims to demonstrate that, when given concomitantly with a 5-hydroxytryptamine 3 (5-HT3) antagonist and a corticosteroid, a single 150 mg intravenous (IV) dose of fosaprepitant given on Day 1 is superior to the control regimen of 5-HT3 antagonist and corticosteroid only, in preventing chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV) associated with moderately emetogenic chemotherapy (MEC).
Aprepitant for Post-operative Nausea
Postoperative NauseaAnesthesia, especially for laparoscopic surgery, can cause post-operative nausea and vomiting. Most patients are given two drugs, decadron and ondansetron, to try to minimize this. This study is to determine if a new drug, aprepitant, would add any benefit in terms of post-op nausea prevention. All laparoscopic cholecystectomy study patients will receive decadron and ondansetron. Half the patients will receive aprepitant in addition. The other half will receive placebo. The study will be randomized and double-blind.
