Characterization of the Corneal Biomechanics of Patients Treated by Corneal Lenticule Extraction...
MyopiaThis study aims to perform biomechanical tests on extracted CLEAR lenticles that are routinely discarded after surgery. The investigators also aim to perform Brillouin microscopy to get an in-vivo assessment of the patient's cornea preoperatively and to correlate this data with the postoperative characterization of the extracted corneal lenticule. The characterization will be done with established biomechanical and morphologic tests.
Environmental Health and Myopia Prevention and Control
Refractive ErrorsMyopia (Disorder)Myopia is one of the major causes of low visual acuity during childhood. It is generally more prevalent in urban areas than in rural areas. Current evidence does not address our understanding of the myopia incidence and development and associated risk geographic factors, such as green spaces. Therefore, our study aimed to evaluate the association between geographic factors and myopia base on a population-based large-scaled cohort design.

Efficacy of Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL) / Retinal Thickness Ratio by Cirrus OCT Utilizing Spectral...
GlaucomaMyopiaGlaucoma is presumed to be an axonal disease which starts at the lamina cribrosa. This assumption has led to the monitoring of the retinal nerve fiber layer thickness for the diagnosis and monitoring of progression of glaucoma. However, varying disc size, myopia and tilted discs affect the thickness of the retinal nerve fiber layer. This study aims to ascertain the ration of the retinal nerve fiber layer against full retina as a predictor of glaucoma diagnosis and progression.
