Young-Onset Colorectal Cancer
Colon AdenocarcinomaColorectal Carcinoma1 moreThis study investigates the genetic factors that may influence the risk of developing colorectal cancer at a young age. Finding genetic markers for colorectal may help identify patients who are at risk of colorectal cancer. Studying individuals and families at high risk of cancer may help identify cancer genes and other persons at risk.

Geriatric Intervention in Frail Elderly Patients With Colorectal Cancer
Colorectal NeoplasmsThis is a randomized, controlled trial on frail elderly patients (aged 65+) with colorectal cancer. The patients will be randomized into two groups. The control group will receive standard surgical treatment. The intervention group will in addition go through a preoperative comprehensive geriatric assessment. The assessment will include evaluation of co-morbidity and medication, social status, nutritional status, cognition, depression and physical performance. This assessment will form basis of an individualized perioperative intervention. The main aim of the study is to see if the number of postoperative complications in this group can be reduced by a perioperative geriatric intervention. A study of inflammation markers in serum will also be performed, with focus on identifying potential biological frailty markers.

Ltd.) versus XELODA® 500 mg tablets (Manufactured by Roche Pharma AG) Experimental Design: Two-period crossover design Test drug: Capecitabine tablets Reference drug: XELODA Sample size:24

Sentinel Lymph Node (SLN) in Colorectal Carcinoma (CRC) With a Near-infrared (NIR)-Dye
Sentinel Lymph NodeColorectal Cancer1 moreThe sentinel lymph node (SLN) procedure is a standard staging technique in several types of cancer. One of the major problems of SLN mapping in colorectal cancer is the lack of an optimal dye and technique for identification of the nodes. In this study the investigators used the Near-Infrared (NIR) dye Indocyanin Green (ICG) to identify nodes with a newly developed NIR laparoscope. The investigators compared two different injection techniques; subserosal and submucosal injection. Patients planned for a laparoscopic resection of a colorectal carcinoma without distant metastases were included. Dye was injected in the subserosa or submucosa of the bowel. Ten minutes after injection the investigators searched for fluorescent nodes with the NIR laparoscope. Fluorescent nodes were harvested and analyzed by the pathologist using H&E and additional immunohistochemistry.

Surgical Recovery After Left Lateral Hepatic Sectionectomy: Laparoscopic Versus Open Surgery.
Colorectal CancerLiver Metastasis1 moreThe ORANGE II trial is a double blinded randomised controlled trial that will provide evidence on the merits of laparoscopic surgery in patients undergoing a left lateral hepatic sectionectomy in terms of time to functional recovery, hospital length of stay, quality of life, readmission percentage, morbidity and mortality, hospital costs, body image and cosmesis, and long term incidence of incisional hernias.

Efficacy Analysis of Cetuximab Plus Irinotecan in Patients With Wild-type KRAS Without Regard to...
Advanced Colorectal CancerThe purpose of this study is to investigate the response rate of cetuximab plus irinotecan every 2 weeks in patients harboring wild-type KRAS with and without detectable EGFR-expressing metastatic CRC after failure to irinotecan in an exploratory manner.

RCT of Air Insufflation Versus Water Infusion Colonoscopy by Supervised Trainees
Colorectal CancerOur aim is to perform a randomized-controlled trial comparing air insufflation sedated colonoscopy (conventional method) vs. water infusion sedated colonoscopy (study method) by supervised trainees. Randomized trials demonstrating reduced need for sedation medications without compromising patients' comfort, cecal intubation rates or polyps detection may cause a paradigm shift and positively alter the way traditional colonoscopy is performed and future endoscopists are trained.

An Exploratory Pharmacogenomic Study of Monotherapy Erbitux in Subjects With Metastic Colorectal...
Metastatic Colorectal CancerThe purpose of this study is to predict response to Erbitux as a single agent in patients with metastatic colon cancer

Chemotherapy and Avastin Followed by Maintenance Treatment With Avastin +/- Tarceva
Metastatic Colorectal CancerChemotherapy and bevacizumab is given for 4 months. Patients who have not progressed will continue with maintenance treatment with either bevacizumab (Avastin) alone, or bevacizumab and erlotinib (Tarceva).

A Study to Evaluate Avastin in Patients Treated in a Previous Genentech-Sponsored Cancer Study
Breast CancerColorectal Cancer1 moreThis is a multicenter, open-label extension study. Subjects who have received rhuMAb VEGF therapy in Study AVF2107g, AVF2119g, or AVF2192g and who completed the parent study are eligible for inclusion in this trial. Subjects who have received placebo in Study AVF2107g or AVF2192g are also eligible.
