Preoperative Twice Daily Chemoradiation in Addition to Chemotherapy Prior to Surgery in Stage III...
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerPatients are randomized to (arm A) 3 cycles of cisplatin/etoposide, followed by hyperfractionated radiotherapy (hfRT)with concurrent carboplatin and vindesine then surgery and, if no or R1/2-resection, additional hfRT versus (arm B) 3 cycles of cisplatin/etoposide, followed by surgery and then RT. The primary endpoint was progression free survival (PFS). With 500 patients evaluable an improvement of median PFS from 10 to 14 months could be detected.

T1N0M0 Non-small Cell Lung CancerTo evaluate the efficacy and safety of SBRT for T1N0M0 non-small cell lung cancer

Phase 2 Trial of Bevacizumab in Combination With Pemetrexed
Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)Lung Cancer1 moreThis trial evaluated the safety of combining bevacizumab and pemetrexed in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients with stable brain metastases as second-line chemotherapy, while evaluating progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS).

Positron Emission Tomography in Predicting Response in Patients Who Are Undergoing Treatment With...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Diagnostic procedures, such as positron emission tomography (PET), (done before, during, and after chemotherapy) may help doctors predict a patient's response to treatment and help plan the best treatment. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pemetrexed disodium and cisplatin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving combination chemotherapy after surgery may kill any tumor cells that remain after surgery. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well PET works in predicting response in patients who are undergoing treatment with pemetrexed disodium and cisplatin with or without surgery for stage I, stage II, or stage III non-small cell lung cancer.

Docetaxel in Treating Older Patients With Locally Advanced or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as docetaxel, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Chemotherapy drugs may have different effects in older patients. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well docetaxel works in treating older patients with locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.

Molecular Profiling in Lung Cancer Patients
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerCarcinomaThe main purpose of this study of pemetrexed combined with cisplatin used as neoadjuvant chemotherapy (2 or 3 cycles) in participants with operable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is to look at various genes present in participants' blood and tumor tissue to see if there is any link between the levels or changes in the genes and how participants with lung cancer respond to pemetrexed and cisplatin treatment.

Irinotecan and Gemcitabine in Treating Patients With Recurrent or Progressive Stage III or Stage...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as irinotecan and gemcitabine, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Irinotecan may also increase the effectiveness of gemcitabine. Giving irinotecan together with gemcitabine may kill more tumor cells. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving irinotecan together with gemcitabine works in treating patients with recurrent or progressive stage III or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.

A Trial of Carboplatin and Gemcitabine Versus Gemcitabine Alone in Patients With Non-Small-Cell...
Non-Small Cell Lung CancerTo determine and compare the median survival produced by combined Gemcitabine plus Paraplatin versus Gemcitabine as a single-agent in patients with NSCLC and a PS equal to 2.

Pemetrexed Disodium and Bevacizumab in Treating Patients With Stage III or Stage IV Non-Small Cell...
Lung CancerRATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as pemetrexed disodium, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, can block tumor growth in different ways. Some block the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Others find tumor cells and help kill them or carry tumor-killing substances to them. Bevacizumab may also stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking blood flow to the tumor. Giving pemetrexed disodium together with bevacizumab may be an effective treatment for non-small cell lung cancer. PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving pemetrexed disodium together with bevacizumab works in treating patients with stage III or stage IV non-small cell lung cancer.

PURPOSE: This phase II trial is studying how well giving docetaxel together with cisplatin works in treating patients with stage I, stage II, or stage III non-small cell lung cancer that has been completely removed by surgery.
