Randomized Phase III Trial of Surgery Alone or Surgery Plus Preoperative Gemcitabine-Cisplatin in...

Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer

Preoperative chemotherapy is considered to play a role in early stage non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) .The use of preoperative Cisplatin/Gemcitabine chemotherapy has proven feasible and without excessive morbidity or mortality in the Phase II setting. The aim of the present Phase III study is to determine whether 3 cycles of preoperative chemotherapy with Cisplatin/Gemcitabine improves progression free survival of NSCLC patients versus surgery alone. Postoperative chemotherapy will not be utilized in this Phase III trial.

Weekly Docetaxel Versus Weekly Docetaxel/Gemcitabine in the Treatment of Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer...

Lung Cancer

In this randomized trial, we attempt to further define optimal palliative chemotherapy for elderly patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer by comparing single agent treatment with weekly docetaxel versus combination therapy with weekly docetaxel plus gemcitabine.

Non Small Cell Lung Cancer

This is an observational multicenter study. A cross-sectional descriptive study of patients with locally advanced or metastatic Non Small Cell Lung Cancer with activating EGFR mutation treated by any first line therapy will be used to identify cohort with a prospective follow-up of patients initiating a treatment by osimertinib in first line A cross-sectional descriptive study of all patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with activating EGFR mutation treated by any first line therapy will be collected at the study participating sites. The study which is transversal will allow to characterize the population of patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with activating EGFR mutation treated in first line, the day of first line initiation. Additionally, a prospective study targeting a cohort of patients focusing on patients with locally advanced or metastatic NSCLC with activating EGFR mutation initiating a treatment by osimertinib in first line will be conducted to address describe in real life conditions the 36-months overall survival, patients baseline characteristics, disease evolution, sequencing and treatment patterns, and quality of life

Vitamin D Loading Dose in Advanced Lung Cancer

Lung Cancer

Hypovitaminosis D is highly prevalent in people with lung cancer, and may have adverse clinical consequences. The long and variable pharmacokinetic half-life of vitamin D makes prompt vitamin D replacement problematic. This is an open, one-armed therapeutic intervention using a loading dose of vitamin D that will be predicted to increase plasma 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations of every patient well into the normal range (> 100 nmol/L) within 2 or 3 weeks and monitored after 2 and 3 weeks of loading and maintenance dose. Preliminary data will also be obtained to identify potentially clinical important outcome benefits for future investigation. The outcomes are plasma 25OHD concentration Vitamin D binding protein and other plasma concentrations Mood and symptom

A Feasibility Study of Oral Adjuvant Chemotherapy With S-1

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

The investigators confirm the feasibility of 1-year administration of oral fluoropyrimidine S-1 as an adjuvant chemotherapy for the patient who received complete resection of non-small cell lung cancer. The investigators presume they can achieve high completion rate with low toxicity.
